JV never updated his Twitter to say he lives in NY. How prescient was that?! Now he’s good, no update needed.

JV was the only player I thought the Astros would trade Gilbert for and happy for the result. Crane may have saved a boat load on JVs contract for just not having him for a few months. If he could have released Gilbert and Clifford in the off season to keep JV at a reduced priced he probably would have done it, so to Crane it's a win I'm sure.

    This is the way.

I debate using Javier as the multi-inning guy in the playoffs based on pen experience vs Urquidy…

Only a few hours to go...where is Mark Berman when we need him...instead we get Walrus McClain complaining about air conditioning...

Why is this perfect? I kind of like Lorenzen.

I get that, but I don't understand why he cares so much and acts like we've been blessed by his God-given connection. Bro needs to find some other hobbies. There's more to the world than breaking Astros news especially if your livelihood doesn't depend on it and you're not a 12 year old child.

Solid strategy by the Mets buying prospects. Sign top FAs to huge money, fail miserably, use more money to trade those FAs for top prospects. Rinse and repeat.

Hopefully they paid most of the contract. Even if they pay most of it, wouldn't the full salary still count towards our salary cap? I imagine there's not going to be much wiggle room left

    He's 40 years old. I don't think he cares.

This gives them a legitimate chance to win a WS. You gotta take your shots. Good job by Crane, Brown.

Still have Barber, Loperfido, Leon etc... and the under 21 guys.

Hopefully they add another bat and Barlow. Meyers and a lower level pitcher should get you Barlow. I wonder if the Cards would do a Gusto, Arrighetti for Burleson or Donovan type deal?

The Astros are pretty damn yoked again.....

    ROTATION
    Verlander
    Valdez
    Javier
    Brown
    France

    BENCH
    Dubon
    Meyers
    Kessinger
    Julks

    BULLPEN
    Pressly
    Abreu
    Graveman
    Neris
    Urquidy
    Maton

    LINE UP
    Altuve
    Pena
    Alvarez
    Bregman
    Tucker
    Abreu
    McCormick
    Diaz
    Maldonado

The Braves have been amazing, the Dodgers and Rays and Orioles and Rangers all are great - but this on paper is probably the best team in baseball and on paper likely better than the team that won the WS. Outside of catcher and the 5th man in the pen, there really are no weaknesses.

Is the China house a buffet.
If so did you see Pancakes there enjoying a poo poo platter in the air conditioning?

He isn't going to the AL or a true contender we have to worry about.

We no longer need any starting pitching.
