I would think France and a lower for Soto and Hader the Padres would be dumb not to take it

With the cost of prospects, they will deplete their depth by trading for Verlander. If you want Soto/Hader, that’s gonna cost big league talent like McCormick, Brown, etc. Are you sure you want to do that?
Lmao there’s no way they do that. Soto is the same tier as Tucker so you’re saying you’d trade Tucker for a pitcher like France? I like how you have trade override on

It should… but they withstood it in 2020 and everything didn’t fall apart. In fact they chose to go after him again with even more scary possibilities coming off TJ surgery.

See this is why we have to always burn our best bullpen arms. Because of dumbasses like Stanek and Montero.

That’s why I say we trade the min package for Verlander and have Crane pay the full contract remaining

I would not at all mind if we could obtain a reliever that would make a Stanek appearence for the Astros as rare as Halley's Comet.

Astros aren’t dealing for a bat of Soto level. Get it out your head and move on.

Nothing like a 5 run lead in the 9th being a nailbiter.

I get this…but hard to predict Garcia out for the year, Urquidy out for 2/3rds, LMJ out all year, plus the bullpen/Javier regression (playoff tax?)…had we known that, perhaps we bite on the third year at the outset, but that doesn’t make the pass at the outset the wrong call.
