It is odd. He has 13 k/9 against 3 bb/9 and hasn’t been homer prone, plus he’s already 23. Not sure what the hold up is.

Interestingly, the Astros have the top 2 k/9 pitchers in A ball among guys with qualified innings (Dombroski and Fleury). If you drop the threshold to 40 ip, they have 4 of the top 21 (Taylor, Guilfoil, Fleury, DeVos).

Big time. He should be able to get 150+ pa there. If he posts a wRC+ >130 then he will likely get some fringe Top 100 love this offseason.

Off topic but looking at 1 of her tweets, looks like Jeff Luhnow is working on a book. If true, can't wait for it.

We'll have to wait another day for Luis Baez's Fayetteville debut...

Not sure if posted and I mentioned it on the trade rumors section but potential backup plan if they can't make a trade for a starter is they may consider Spencer Arrighetti as a call up.

What's telling about this is that both of the teams at the top of the list were Lunhow teams. Tell me again why the **** this guy is not a GM?

Luis Baez went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk in his full season debut.

Carlos Espinosa threw 5 scoreless innings with 8 k and 1 bb and 1 hit. Through his first 3 A ball appearances he has a 0.80 era with 11 ip 16 k and 4 bb.

Both of those players have skyrocketing stock right now.

Chad Stevens is still pretty much a non-prospect, but he has at least grabbed my interest. Solid power production and premium exit velos. Good defensive and baserunning value. One fatal flaw is his strikeouts. Doubtful he can change that dramatically enough to ever be a real factor but small chance he could be a strikeout prone bench player with power.

He’s not a bad prospect and those HR from a middle infielder are nice but he is striking out nearly ten times as much as he’s walking in AAA; that won’t really play. He had an adjustment period in AA that spanned 2 seasons so maybe he will keep getting better and pan out but my expectations have been tempered since he got promoted.

Is there a site, like baseballsavant, that measures minor leaguers?

I have heard about Leon's and Gilbert's arms and seen some highlights of them and others throwing out runners but I would be very interested in a statistical comparison of the minor league OF. All I see are the 20-80 scouting grades which are subjective and don't help much.

    Thanks in advance.

Baseball savant has some info if you click game feed in the menu then go to yesterday then jump to the AAA part....batted ball and pitch velocity. Didn't see amy defensive metrics. Those likely take a lot more technology.
