All in good fun guys. Some of you I respect as posters SO much that even I was getting worried about picking Amen. I’m not worried anymore. Peace & Love and of course, #BeWell…
Lol, I knew someone would be dumb enough to take this obvious sarcasm seriously. I guess there's no such thing as "obvious enough" for some
I thought he was looking pretty good so far--only took 4 shots, but he's picked up 3 blocks, a steal, and 9 rebounds. Both twins are going to be contribute in a lot of different ways that make any early struggles with jump shooting less important, IMO. I.e. Josh Giddey.
ya but like why are you upset? You wanted whitmore. They got whitmore. Why are you hoping Amen sucks still? Lmfao
Bro hasn't stopped being mad since Tilly bought the team and squandered a perfectly good championship contender.
He wasn't a primary scorer or their primary facilitator. There were a pass or two that made me think I was watching Amen. His primary goal was always to be a defender, handle the ball, etc. But just like Amen, if he's called upon to be more aggressive, he's got that gene in him. Both of these guys don't really care about being 30 points scorers - they're pretty much down to do whatever is asked of them. That Detroit team, at least on paper, is loaded with talented and semi-talented players, but I don't know how they'll mesh - we'll see.
I thought Ivey would be a better player, but he still plays out of control at times. I see some of that in Cam, too. With Cam, you can say he's an 18 year old (ok, 19 as of today) and has 2-3 years to grow out of it, but Ivey, while not looking for buckets seemed like he was just going all out at all times. Maybe they (the players) don't know what they have in Ausar or maybe Ivey just wanted to be the "leader" of the Summer League crew. If they dial back his minutes in the next few games, I'm curious to see how they change Ausar's role (if any).
I like some of what I saw of Amen. He's young and I think he found out very quickly that you don't get many straight line drives to the rim. He made some nice passes even though he jumped in the air a couple of times. He was melting on those screens, but that will come with time and understanding angles.
Amen looked all the hype - guys just moves and passes with so much intelligence, and then there's the athleticism. He definitely has the potential to be the Rockets best player very soon. People dogging on him don't know crap about ball.
OP had the audacity to hate on someone no one has yet to see play in the NBA. How do you like them apples?
Putting that much stock in summer league is a sign of mental illness. Besides Gradey will probably start at some point while Amen will sit (since he can't shoot)
It is the sign of being a fan, which is short for fanatic - and it is just something to talk about. DD
