Lol we had John Wall and Russell Westbrook contracts. No chance this is worse. Plus it appears to have incentives so let's wait and see what it actually is when the trade is finalized.

Ya the anderson slander is ridiculous. To say brooks is even close to his level as a player is insulting. While I suppose a player can go from awful to good at brooks age, history says he is what he is.

Ryan Anderson signed prior to the 2016 season for 4 years, 80 million guaranteed.

As a percentage of cap space, that's the equivalent of a 2023 contract at 4 years, 115 million guaranteed.

So we got that going for us... I guess...

You said every team needs a dog, or some such - implying you need guys a little off kilter, yet you consistently criticized KPJ for his behavior....

I respond to things I want to, and ignore things I don't....since you and I rarely agree, I don't find it useful to respond to you.

I do appreciate that you finally are admitting that having guys a little off kilter is good for teams - maybe now you can give KPJ a little praise instead of blaming him for SIlas miss steps.

    The glass half full....

Ime will be able to mold Brooks into someone in talks for the DPOY award and has <6FGA while moving the ball and settings screens.

People criticized KPJ for his off-court problems such as getting in fights at strip clubs, throwing bowls of soup, and walking out on the team at halftime. You could compare the two if it were just him being antagonistic on the court and getting some technical fouls while playing good defense.

No again.... I'll throw this out kid school style for you. Read my posts again. Im not big on the DB signing. IF, a huge IF, he can get his stupid ish in check and still be a dawg on D, without acting a fool (like I said), then ok.

You can try to twist ish all you want.

The posts are their in history.

DB is not who I wanted at all, but he does D up.

    That's something we need.

Ok, on that we agree, but I don't believe we know whether Green, KPJ, Bari, or Sengun can play defense because they weren't asked to or held accountable.

So we go and spend 80m on a defensive specialist who can't shoot, when we might have better cheaper players on the team already, especially Eason.

I can't stand Brooks....I am ok with FVV for leadership, am ok with Green (really like him) but Brooks is a head scratcher....no one else was bidding why ae we paying 80m for a dime a dozen player like him who thinks he is better than he really is.

Not knowing whether those guys can play defense is probably the exact reason Udoka wanted Brooks. He wanted a wing player that he was confident could play good defense because that is what he emphasizes as a coach. He probably thinks he can control Brooks on offense and was willing to take that risk because Brooks can be a coach defense on the court. Maybe it is a terrible contract but if it results in Bari, Green, Tari, Amen, and/or Cam becoming better defenders it's probably worth it in the long run.

Wish they would hurry up and finalize this damn contract (or better yet, back out). I want to know just how bad it is: What kind of incentives are involved, how frontloaded it is, etc.

I don’t like it at face value. I will ask again, has anyone seen the final version or terms of this contract? I’m still holding out hope it not as bad as we’re thinking initially.
