He's an elite defender and we needed one because our guards and forwards were the worst defenders in the entire league last season. Jalen, KPJ, Kenyon none of them can defend so we had to bring someone who could defend. So everyone stop crying please.

Most fans ignore defense, like Sengun fans, so they only look at offensive stats to judge a player. Dillon Brooks is a very good defender hands down. He's just very immature. Given the right situation I think he could be very productive

What I don't get is how Silas got blamed for our culture, but the coach in Memphis gets absolutely NO criticism for his star player flashing guns on camera. Very odd

Not true. Our guards just need the right system that highlights their defensive skills

Has Sengun ever shut any superstars down like Jalen did Booker in the clutch last year?

Yes i remember Sengun doing pretty good against Jokic in the last Nuggets game. While they are both bad defenders pound to pound Sengun is a better defender than Jalen. That clip is 37 seconds long while 1 NBA regular season is 236,160 seconds long. If you do the math we have 236,123 seconds and he was poor in any ever single second of that 236,123 seconds.

No. Senguns a ATROCIOUS defender & clearly the biggest liability on the team. This is why he's targeted more than any other player on the team. If he's a better defender, why do teams constantly seek him out? If he doesn’t work on this under Udoka, Sengun will not be in Houston long

The cult of LeBron is responsible for the Brooks hate. Nobody had a feeling one way or another about him until he dared to challenge the king.

Every team needs an enforcer. Apparently Coach sees a role for Villain Brooks, the player no current narrative likes and allegedly no team wants. Thats some old school hate for an old school enforcer/heal right there. Rox could use a bad boy on this team of young, fresh faced, lovable puppies. Rox fans will love them some Dillon Brooks this season. Coach will clean up his play.

He then left him all by himself but yeah, that was good man to man defense on Booker at the beginning.

Well he ended up lookin like a dumb@$$ losing to the Lakers acting tough.

His own team dropped his a$$ right after. So overpaying him seems even stupider

They were trying to cover up the real reason they had problems, Morant. They were protecting their franchise player.

That is called an opinion. Your opinion is he is a scrub. Neither are facts.

he's an all nba defender with a few years left in his prime, on a declining contract with a new TV deal coming. by year 3 or 4 he will be paid like a high end bench player which is what he might be at that point.

he's got some warts to his game and personality but he's a definite upgrade on what will become an affordable deal.

sure, cost us tyty, JC, KJM, and garuba in the process but chances are his prime (all nba defender) is higher than the median expected outcome for any of those players.

overall its not a home run, but I don't dislike it. solid B or B+ move.

Pffft If undrafted player like him could rise to the occasion to b an all nba defender, I doubt garuba couldn't become that at a cheaper deal.

We mismanaged our assets, sold them for cheap and overpaid for essentially a pat bev bulldog.

C- for the sht contract. I didn't even factor his polarizing attitude that made a playoff team drop his a$$ right after

They are both below average defenders. They both need to work on defense or they are both being traded or riding the bench. I really hope Udoka is ready to put these kids in their place. Dillon Brooks is not the best wing defender in the world but has nuts the size of basketballs. Something that none of our players besides Eason, KJ Martin and Jabari had last season. There is no reason why a guy like Dillon Brooks is that disruptive on defense besides the fact that he rises to the challenge and takes it alot more seriously than most others. Implement that mentality to players that are actually physically gifted with long wingspans and footspeed to stay in front of opposing players like Eason, Jabari, KPJ and Amen Thompson and Cam, you have a diff product on the floor. Maybe Brooks can help Jalen out since the kid also has trex arms.
