Way too early but 3 predictions I believe will happen for end of this season: Sengun averages 6+ assists Jabari takes a large step and becomes the best two way player on the team. Dillon Brooks top 3 DPOY voting. I have way more confidence in Ime then I should but I loved his season in Boston and can't help but feel like this team makes a major turn.
We will be in the post season Jabari will shine. I have big hopes for Amen Jalen is the biggest question mark
Dillon Brooks <1.0 win share. Tari outplays him but the coaching staff still gives Brooks more minutes out of INTENSE SHAME at giving him a 4yr guaranteed deal. The process gets aborted in favor of win-now veterans who hog all the shots and stunt the growth of Jabari, Tari, Amen, and Cam. Rockets win 34 games and get the 11 seed while Udoka misses the playoffs for the first time in his coaching career. Tilman fires Stone and installs Patrick as GM moving forward.
DPOY votes have very little to do with how well you play defense. It comes down to two stats: steals and blocks. Our best candidates for DPOY are FVV and Eason.
We hit 36 wins bc Sengun and Jalen take a big step with an actual system and point guard. We are the worst 3pt shooting team in the league Stone fumbles the trade deadline as usual Our “culture” is better but our rookies don’t get much playing time because of it (minimal development) KPJ flourishes in the 6th man role
Udoka ages 7 years in one season We win 35+ games Clutchfans melts down every time TyTy, Usman, Christopher, or KMJ scores over 15pts in a game where there new teams are load managing
We're all going to be watching the Draft Lottery because we'll have a decent chance to retain our pick.
Adding Udoka and the staff along with a point that has championship experience, a defensive minded idiot and some solid, smart, team first vets to the young, soon to blow up core.... 42 or more Play in possibly. Yes, I'm optimistic.
40 wins minimum. Ime tames Dillon Brooks and gets him to shoot <10 shots a game, becomes a fan favorite. I think that’s fairly realistic. My hope: Jabari takes a massive leap forward, he was awful last year which means more room to improve especially given his age. Amen or/and Cam prove they are not busts and show a lot of promise.
