The Reason the Rocket Will Be Better We are not tanking. Here is the dirty little non secret secret. The Rockets are better than their record showed. There is maybe 5~15 games they could have won but lost a. Some is simply inexperience b. Some is on Silas c. Some is on Stone / Tilman I like Silas. The main problem about most of the losses last year I really don’t know which of a,b, or c is the reason. We lost them. Period. But some games I felt like Silas was f*cking up. Some of them I felt he got the call from upstairs to intentionally F*ck up . . .and others I thought the players were f*cking up. We were in the RACE FOR WEMBY!! Make not mistake! WE LOST GAMES INTENTIONALLY. Silas will carry those L’s and probably never be a head coach again because of it. BUT Stone and the Players are responsible for a lot of them too. Once Harden left . . ..we went into rebuild mode. The team did not Acknowledge it until the next year though. Then we started tanking. Period. Since we not tanking I expect at least an additional 10 wins. Our last three years are: 17-65 20-62 22-60 I seriously think our teams were better than that. Particularly the last years team. I think they could have easily won 30 games but we really didn’t want too. We wanted Wemby! Period Udoka is better than Silas I simply feel Udoka is a more forceful and demanding coach. I think he is better at player management. I dunno about his x’s and o’s just yet but imo x’s and o’s didn’t lose us too many games. I think player management in-game and in general. I expect him to be a better version of John Lucas as far as holding players to task. He will have the the authority to drop bigger hammers than John could (he actually control the playing time etc etc) I think the players could always ignore the coaches here . . . Silas and Lucas simply could not be too hard on the players. I think Udoka is simply a better coach, he will have more authority, and he will make the rockets better. I think Celtics don’t lose to the Heat with Udoka. We better be!!!! We going all in. We are NOT tanking. I expect. MAXIMUM effort from every one!!! Tilman down!!! Play-IN or BUST . . . . . . . . Damn Right!!! JVV now is making 40 million a year. Last year he was a 20-7 guy I am expecting 25-10 this year . .. YEA 40 million dollars you better start having Your MFin best years!!! Anything less is disappointing STONE - You better still get some more value . .. no more bullish!t placeholders Tilman - SPEND THE F*CKING MONEY!! No time for cheapness Rocket River
I don’t understand why many people don’t include one of the most important reasons: our young guys have one more year of experience. For Green this will be the year to show, if he will be a star or not. Same can be said for Sengun. Jabari looked overwhelmed, he should settle down and acclimate himself. Tari should take the next step. And with Amen and Cam we have more overall talent on the roster. I expect us to fight for a play in spot, similar to OKC last season. Anything below that would be a disappointment.
ANOTHER REASON TO EXPECT MORE!!! If we had gotten Harden . . .anything less than a 2nd round exit would be an EXTREME ANGER INDUCING RUN HIM OUT OF TOWN AND BURN HIS BEARD type rage Definitely . . . . IMO winning 35 games will be an EXTREME disappointment. I wonder if people are just low balling the team so when they win 41 games we can all feel like they over achieved. Rocket River am I Lying?
Remember when the Rockets Sat a 20-7 guy making 47 million dollars a year down . . . . . . . . Pepridge Farms remembers Rocket River BECAUSE WE WERE TANKING AND LOSING INTENTIONALLY
The long-term goal is to rebuild and win a championship. The incentives were geared towards losing to accumulate the most talent in phase one, some fans were good with it some couldn't accept it. But in phase two all the incentives are geared towards progress and winning. We also added two top draft talents, are filing in FA vets, and have a new coach who has taken a young team and won at a high level with time. There will still be growing pains to be sure, but I do expect us to grow and progress, so excited to watch us move forward and develop to be competitive.
I guess I expect a larger leap than most 5 game leap is not going to cut it A 10 game leap ain't Rocket River
If we get even more quality free agent vets and like others have said, after that it depends on our internal improvement. Jalen, Bari, Tari, Sengun years two and three. KPJ next year etc. That will help determine how much of a jump we can make this year, we'll see, looking forward to it. Realistically we will definitely improve, if we make the playoffs or play in year one it's an early homerun for phase two imo.
If we play our cards right, we might end up with a top 10 pick next year instead of top 5....yay improvement.
I feel like last year we left 5-10 games in the L Column cause we were tanking...aka....not trying to win So winning those games is a no Brainer and not a sign of improvement as much as just an change in direction and trying. Rocket River
bah this team was trash all year, and so was the coach. Eric Gordon? give me a break bro.. Bad inexperienced team, Bad coach , just too young of team to compete with anyone.. Now im not saying the players are bad, but damn they took bad shots, and you could tell they could not close hardly any games out in the 4th quarter based on bad plays, and straight out lack of exp. There good young team thou, so never know with the right coach.
Even though FVV is paid like the franchise guy that he is (lol) a lot of this season will ride on the development of JG and Sengun. If they don't significantly improve this team isn't going anywhere.
Lopez/Garuba Sengun or Smith/ Brooks/Eason Green/KPJ FVV/Amen Mix Whitmore in. Move Ty/Josh Da Bottom/Tate/KMJ to make room for Brooks. Personally I think that team is 41-41 at least. A lit if balance.
You forgetting that unless the pick is in the top 4 it's owed to OKC? Or was that sarcasm? My sarcasm detector may be broken.
