Move KPJ the bench role where he belongs. He would be a fine 6th man for us.

I don't know how to feel about this. I have always liked Fred Vanvleet. But 40 million a year for 3 years? Seems a bit excessive. I'm particularly concerned about the third year. I hope we come to find out that it's a team option.

edit: I've thought more on it and I'm holding out on seeing the final details of the contract before I even worry about the third year. It could be they structured this as a descending deal and, in that case, the third year becomes vastly more tradeable. It could still also be a team option. I'm also hearing the Raptors may have to throw a few second rounders at us to get us to do the sign and trade with them that would allow them to pick up the trade exception. A few second rounders would also sweeten the deal for me a little. I believe we paid about 5 million for the KJ Martin second rounder, so that's additional value added to this signing.

Hope the 3rd year is only partially guaranteed.
Plus that means it won't be an easily moveable expiring contract next year either.

    Oh well.
His team used their leverage well.

I dunno. I like the guy, but that's big money for a dude who shot 39% last year.

The cost of trying to be a play-in team.

    I guess...
