This is insane. Do we have some funk that's keeping all these PGs away from Houston? Are we going to use Lue as the starting PG?!?! SIGN SOMEONE, CD!

Didn't C.D. say they would most likely make a trade for a pg rather than a free agent signing. That was said shortly after the T-Mac trade and we still get these "sign someone already" threads every time some free agent is picked up.

Since the T-Mac trade, I've felt that we should only shell out money for either Brent Barry or Carlos Arroyo. Otherwise, just someone cheap to share minutes with Lue would work. This is a pretty bare offseason when it comes to PGs. I'm pretty sure we're seeing all these FA PGs going to other places because CD isn't making an effort to sign them. Either he has something up his sleeves(the Rockets quite tight-lipped in these matters) or he's waiting for next year.

The problem is this year is richer in FA PGs than next year and this year we also have a TE for further flexibility abd leverage. We will never have more options than this year (to keep any single player/agent/team holding us to the fire), now is the time to add a PG we think can be a good role player for us. Looks like Damon Jones or trade is about all left though--I am surprised we have not had this done when Jones and James were both on the market and their were fewer competitors (Milwalkee tied up with Etan).

But I am thinking, definetly hoping at least, we do have a plan to add our future PG before the TE expires and we are just waiting for the timing. That is the only good reason we have not added a vet PG to help Lue man the point.
