Houston put out a hit piece on Whitmore injury issues to make him drop

I never thought of him as a lotto pick. 3 and D is cool, but can you take advantage of a mismatch or a switch by putting the ball on the floor and getting by people?

Yes, this is one of Cam's strengths. And he has the ability to finish well too. I'm actually more excited to see him play than Amen.

He has the first step... the handle is a work in progress. He's not as bendy and fluid as Amen getting into the lane though, he's more of a straight line power driver.

I have no idea how Cam fell. I’m thankful for it and for once something beneficial happened for us draft wise. After getting shafted on Wemby this softens the blow.

When it comes to building a team through the NBA draft, character matters

Here's where the vape pen rumor comes from - CBS Sports' Gary Parrish. I believe the rumor because no one else that was projected to be a top 10 pick fell as much as Cam did.

There is a rumor saying that Adam Silver let that happen because he is apologizing the Rockets for snubbing their chances to get the number one pick three times.

Except ... Parrish's article was around 3 weeks ago and in his subsequent mock draft, he had Cam still at #5. As a matter of fact, at some point after that article, he moved him from pick #6 to pick #5, I think. So if he knew Cam was the guy that may fall out of the first, why would he be moving him up in his mock draft or keep him anywhere near the top of the draft?

Some people are saying it may be GG Jackson, but I'm not sure anybody knows for sure.

Can't be Whitmore because everybody had him in the first round, not "most people"

    Disagree.
Jalen Green is playing great for me. Nobody has more offense threat than Green this team. Just look at our rivalry teams, they put all defense on Jalen Green, but he still can contribute 22 pts per game. In addition, Silas is hot trash at developing young talents.

Some other guys who slid in their drafts on draft day

Darrell Arthur, Perry Jones, Gerald Green, Bol Bol, Chris Taft, and now Cam Whitmore.

Me using the final mocks of the drafts I could find, not counting guys like Tari Eason who slid prior to draft night.

Not an inspiring list if you ask me, and while the likes of @Nook have a great point in that Wings who average less than 1 APG is a category littered with busts, the guys who succeed in that role usually do so as C&S and off ball specialists, which Cam can most certianly be IMO.

Scoring a lot of points on really bad efficiency just says that a player doesn't care that they are hurting their team, individual stats mean more to them.

The one people keep using as a positive comparison is MPJ who slid from a potential top 5 pick to #14. Whitmore's was obviously an even bigger slide though

Bad efficiency just says Jalen Green scores under tough defense. Most of his shots are difficult.

They can double team Green at any time. Nobody in Rockets has offense threat but Jalen Green.

No, it doesn't, it says he's not good at scoring.

Funny you mention double teams though... Green wasn't the most frequently double teamed player or even guard on the Rockets... but that player actually had solid scoring efficiency.... so why is it only Green needed the excuses?

I just wish the Jalen Green delusions were halfway intelligent and even loosely based on reality.

You wish the kid was a good player, so you just pretend it's true despite all evidence to the contrary.

Then name another Rockets player now has more double team than Jalen Green.

Jalen Green is so good at scoring. He just needs to play more consistently.
