I don't either. I'm just saying whatever caused Whitmore to drop from top 5 to 20 seems to be something that he himself wasn't fully aware of. Even during all the talk of his drop it was more towards the end of the lottery. Which to me seems like it might not actually be all medical concerns.
Dude lost a lot of money sliding that far down. Plus the embarrassment of tumbling live on TV in front of everyone. I'd be distraught, too.
Couple days ago he was supposed to get drafted at 4th-5th and today he slid down to 20. How did they not know that he had serious injuries until today or yesterday? I think they overthought it. If it was that serious we would've read it weeks ago not 30 mins ago.
He's also VERY very young. I'm not even slightly worried about it, he'll put it together, hopefully he grows from it and the experience motivates him.
Yeah I had us drafting him in top 10 and positioned behind a couple of free agent SF pickups anyway. I've had Tate and Kenyon moved months ago
The issue with him falling the draft due to medical issues was suspected online at least yesterday. David Aldridge also posted about some possible work ethic issues. Assuming it's true, I'm not worried about the work ethic issues, because Ime will probably beat work ethic into him or he can suffer.
All of you who are screaming how Stone won the draft this year are probably the same ones who said he won the draft 2 years ago with Green and Sengun, then all last season whined about how horrible a GM he is and how poorly he drafts. ClutchFans is a fickle lover.
I'll be the a**hole. If he was such a steal how come some other team didn't trade up right before us and grab him (what happens to the Texans every year) ?
They may not have had multiple firsts. GS and Miami probably didn't want a dude who may miss time as they are trying to compete now. Just guessing.
the lower he goes the better the teams get. The better the teams get the more likely they are going to avoid a 18 year old that wont contribute to winning now. He probably would have been chosen earlier if there weren't so many teams looking to win now ahead of that 20 spot.
