Strategy of drafting "twitch" athletes over good basketball players

    Taking Green at two, and possibly Amen at four would show a disturbing trend IMO. Both are twitch athletes, but that doesn't necessarily make a great NBA PLAYER. Give me talent, SKILLS, size, athleticism, etc. And, I must admit, I'm not crazy about both coming out of the GLeague either.

    Give me SKILLS over athleticism 100 times out of 100......

    The NBA is littered with SUPER athletes that failed to develop because they relied too much on athleticism and not enough work on skills.

    Jalen Green isn’t just an athlete, he actually has skills

    Jalen Green also has talent

    not even sure why u brought him up

    at the end of the day tho, people do place too much emphasis on athleticism

    Jalen Green has just as much talent and skill as your boy Evan Mobley, who still makes 1 out of every 4 wide open threes, right?

    Amen isn’t coming out of the GLeague though. It’s a much lower tier.

    As much as I'd like that to be the case, it's just not true. When you consider both sides of the ball, it's not even close.

    You could say that about every single SG vs C prospect over the last 50 years. Of course a C has a much larger defensive impact on a basketball game than a 185 teenage guard!

    Marcus Camby was more impactful than Kobe too, and picked much higher than Kobe by folks that think about the game as you do.

    Amen is a basketball genius and doesn’t fit into the typical “athletic freak” stereotype. He’s going to be a superstar and hopefully it’s here.

    How can it be a trend when you have one example ( a flawed one at that), conveniently skip the counter example (Jabari), then a hypothetical example that hasn't happened yet? How is that a trend? Do you know what a trend is?

    We will see If Evan Mobley becomes a better player than Marcus Camby, but he looked awfully stagnant in the swing skills last year. The post-up creativity, the shooting, the passing. He looked like a young Marcus Camby.

    Amen has a contingent out there who really want him. I'm assuming we could get quite a bit. While I'm not sure what that looks like, one would thiink we'd have the flexiblity to pick up Walker.
