Boston laughs at all the Defense defense defense blowhards who went into hiding after the 15th best defensive squad cruised to the title.

    Zing time

If it wasn't clear, I had no idea this trade was going to go down today when I wrote this thread.

I don't understand why Porzingis is willing to opt in to make this happen. Under the table promise, I guess? Or the market is softer for him than I thought.

Honestly, it will be way better than the last 3 seasons. At least they know they're actually going somewhere. Limbo is the worst place to be.

his total number of games played/availability and lack of winning illustrates his value. Which isn't much at all.

Perhaps he wants to play in the playoffs?
There aren't that many teams with more than $33mill who would throw the money at him. If he takes that, and his max extension (2 x $77mill), and then performs well for Boston in the big games over the next few years, then at 29 he might command a bigger salary?

I thought he would opt in - I didn't see anyone paying him more than $33M

He's exactly what Boston needs right now. And, they're getting him for peanuts.

Nobody offered more than a 30th pick for Brogdon?

for a team like Boston sure its better for him, when he gets knocked down the list of options and he turns into a rotational role player rather than trying to be one of your faces of the team. and we know when that happens his team stinks
