Jake Fischer: Rockets have discussed Jalen Green trade

It’s not who “can” bid the highest it’s who “will” bid the highest. If it means we have to give up Green, Sengun, or Jabari the Rockets should look elsewhere. If our draft pick is out of the top 2 and you can trade several other pieces, this years pick, and all of the Nets picks and have assurances that Brown will sign with us then I guess I would do it.

Love or hate Jalen, the fact is he’s the closest player right now to breaking out as an all star player in a couple years. Unless it’s for Luka, Booker, Jokic (haha), or Giannis, you shouldn’t put Jalen in trades.

 

Id be open to trading him next year if we see zero improvement other than his offensive game becoming a 25 pt scorer. He needs to focus n defensive impact and all will be well.

That's really not a fact. He's not even the best 23 and under guard on the current roster and he's terrible on both ends of the court.

I mean, maybe you could still have some crazy overseas fan vote that could make him an "all star" like Jeremy Lin before him, but the fan vote doesn't count for anywhere near as much as it once did.

He could still turn his career around, but if he's as bad next season as he was this season, the Rockets need to look into dumping him while he still might have some value because that's not a guy you want to even give a second contract to.

 

I firmly believe that every single young player on our roster right now is undervalued because of how the team was run these past three years. No one coached these guys or held them accountable. I think most of them will look a lot better with a real coach and veteran leadership. I don't want to give up on any of them.

I agree, pulling the trigger now on a trade before Ime has a chance to develop them would be foolish.

 

He is a flashy player but when he is off, he is one of the most boring players.

Except that Jalen Green in his 2nd year averaged more Field Goal Attempts than Jamal Murray now in RS.
