Smdfh we literally have 101 games left. Is it so ABSURD that we outperform the rangers by 4% over that span???? Time for you to go to confession, brother IBTL
I think at the end of the day, @The Drake @Nook , we just need to praise the Lord more and all will be well. I will pray about it.
The loss of DeGrom is HUGE to the Rangers, he is their most important player. They are now left depending on a rotation that is vastly exceeding anything they have done in the past. Sometimes that happens (the CUBS WS), but most of the time that catches up to you. If I am the Tigers with Eduardo Rodriguez, I am closely studying their minor league system to see how much I can extract for him........ same with the Phillies and Cubs and Indians.
I don’t think Heaney/Gray/Eovaldi are all that likely due to regress in performance; they’ve been badass at different points in the past. The real risk is one or more of them getting hurt, which I consider pretty likely. I really liked all 3 of those signings l, I really wanted Heaney on the Astros considering the light contract he got.
Grays expected numbers are in the mid 4s. When you are beating your expected numbers by 2 runs that screams regression. In fact all of their starters except Eovaldi have an xFIP in the mid 4's, and even Eolvaldi is beating his number by a full run, although his numbers still look great across the board.
Eovaldi is a career 4 ERA pitcher. His 2.24 era is pretty insane for him. He's had a handful of mid-3 eras in his career though, but he's definitely having a career year.
easy for rangers to pitch when their offense can easily put up 7+ runs. when you expect brown, bielak, blanco, and JP france to be perfect every outings, you're gonna struggle.
Can someone research if an MLB manager ever had an everyday hitter with an OPS+ south of 50 in the 5th spot of a batting lineup as late as June 7th? Abreu is on pace to have a -4.3 WAR. Is that going to be an MLB record? Those 4+ games are going to be the difference between us winning and losing the division. The end of the season and the parting of the ways with Dusty Baker can not get here soon enough.
There's some cut off they HAVE to have...right? I mean I have no idea WTF the plan is but they have to have a plan to push him down to 7 or 8 spot. 75 games? 80 games? He's played in all BUT 2 games.
Dubon 1st and Altuve 2nd. Whatever… BUT WHY IS ABREU BACK IN THE 5 HOLE??????? wtf is wrong with you Dusty?? Even batting 6th is wrong at this point. Let him work out of it batting 7th or better yet, 8th.
