Lakers vs Celtics... oh wait Rooting for Denver '95 Rockets lowest seeded champion must be preserved Go Nuggets Go Colorado Go edible Mary Jane
Spoelstra, probably yes. Butler I’m on the fence. He’s had some great individual playoff games, but far too many others where he’s just another guy on the court. He’s not consistently dominant in the way you expect HOF players to be.
Nuggets in 6. Miami already has three trophies. I love it when loser cities become champions!* *For the first time.
I've definitely seen more people say this sentence than ppl actually say Jokic can't win. If this strawman gets any bigger he could jump center for the Heat.
Is this a serious question? Have you seen Spoelstra’s resume? Here’s a few highlights. 6 NBA Finals appearances since 2011 2 X Champion as Head Coach 1 X Champion as assistant coach Member of 15 greatest coaches in NBA History Spoe is a lock for 1st ballot HOFer. I think Butler was on the brink prior to this years playoffs beginning. His run this year cements it for me. He will be a HOFer regardless of the Finals outcome. If he actually wins a ring he’s moving up big time on the list of all time great players/shooting guards and he’ll be a lock for First ballot HOF.
You don’t make a Conference Finals and 2 Finals appearances in 3 years without being consistently dominant more times than not. Especially when you’re the clear Alpha dog and don’t have a 2nd superstar to help you.
an entire playoff run not having to play a 50+ win team is ridiculous. i doubt this has ever happened. i realize the heat are a completely different team from the regular season at this point, but still.......
whats wrong with those matchups ?? i would have liked to see nuggets vs celtics though this matchup should still be good. miami is a different team than the regular season.n
I definitely did think Spo was a lock even before this season. I just don't think he has ever really been talked about in the media as being a lock for HOF coach. Like for some coaches they will say "future HOF", but I don't think I've ever heard that for Spo. I didn't think Jimmy was a HOF until someone started to compare him to Reggie Miller who is already in. And Butler's resume outclasses Miller. He probably still need that iconic moment that people remember to definitely get in on first ballot. But I think he will get it eventually.
Not sure on that but the Nuggets winning a title would be the easiest title ever based on playoff opponents' combined record of 174-154 0.530. In contrast a Heat title would actually only qualify around the 10th hardest based on playoff opponents' combined record of 214-113 0.654. https://fadeawayworld.net/nba/top-10-teams-had-the-toughest-path-to-an-nba-title-ever There are probably better metrics out there though.
I think the reason people don’t talk more about Spoelstra as a HOF coach is because he’s very young still. He was the NBA’s youngest coach (37 years old) at the time he got the nod. He’s 52 now and probably has many many more years left coaching. His resume is already set though if he were to retire tomorrow.
