People kept saying the Nuggets were pretenders, and that Jokic would never win it all, etc. Some people thought the Suns would beat them easily. I've always thought they were the best team in the West. Just not sure if they could beat Boston. Now Boston is getting beat by an 8 seed. LOL.
I thought they should've won it in the bubble. Murray was absurd but the refs were stronger. Just for stupidity, look 2 pages back and you see people trashing Murray
It won't be the last time the media rides him. IF the Lakers don't make the Finals, Kyrie to the Lakers will be the next story. Followed by Kyrie on the Lakers. Followed by how will LeBron arrange to play with Bronnie. Followed by LeBron playing with Bronnie. Followed by LeBron retiring and passing the torch to the Frenchman.
I don't really understand why Boston is viewed as some world-beating juggernaut. Last playoffs, they did sweep the Nets (a Nets team we know now was crumbling, but regardless)...then what? They barely squeaked by a Bucks team missing their second-best team and came within a whisker of losing the series to a beaten-up Miami team. Then they lost in 6 to the Warriors. This year, they had a good regular season, were taken to 6 games by a weak Hawks team, barely survived a 76ers team with a missing then playing-through-injury Embiid. So even before they dropped their first two home games to Miami, there really was nothing to suggest that Boston was a great team. They've been merely good these past two seasons.
There is no "great team" in the current NBA. But Boston was viewed as one of the favorites to come out of the East. After the demise of the Bucks, the Celtics-Sixers series was viewed as the real ECF. A Denver-Boston Finals would be a good one. If I were a gambler, I would bet Boston in 7 games. Now Miami surprises everybody. This is the kind of parity I have been hoping for. I am tired of the superteam dominance.
I guess that's fair, though I think the Nuggets might be great. Not historically great, but their offense is tremendous and led by the best player in the world right now and their defense has been surprisingly good this postseason. I don't think they have any real weaknesses, they have top-end talent and decent depth. I'd have predicted the Nuggets in 5 or 6 over the Celtics.
I am rooting for Nuggets to win it all. I hope I have underestimated them. It looks like I have indeed.
Man, all my life I have been surrounded by lakers fans, from kobe homeboys to now lebrons **** suckers. It feels so good to see the lakers fall apart, especially being picked apart by 'non big name' players (at least in the eyes of casual fans). I just went onto lakers ground to have a look, the responses have made my day. LETS GO DENVER!!!!! SWEEP THEIR SORRY ASSES!!!!
