Thanks for bringing that up - the guy who finished first in DPOY voting this year is in year 5(and at times a person who was the best player on that grizzlies team) and is listed anywhere from the 6th to 9th best prospect on 2018 "redrafts" done before this year - he was drafted 4th originally.

I'm not disagreeing with you that some of our recent picks haven't looked great but I also don't think that's entirely unexpected because we chose the players we did because of their ceilings more so than NBA readiness so to hear 1-2 years later that they have been outperformed by other more NBA ready skill sets doesn't shock me - especially because those more NBA ready players were drafted by teams with significantly more player infrastructure in place than what Houston had. Giddey is a good example of a player who is undoubtedly a better player at this stage and who I think will be a long time NBA starter and maybe even a fringe All Star at some point but he's not a Batman and doesn't have to be with SGA on their roster...but put him in Houston and he would probably have a much more difficult time scoring as a lead creator because there are few options here.

...but again - I'm not disagreeing with the premise of Houston's picks so far have underwhelmed, just that we have to give these types of high ceiling projects a little more time before assessing because similar to 2018, I would much rather have a 2-way big with elite defense like Jaren Jackson Jr than anyone else in that draft outside of the Luka (I think JJJ is in Tier 2 with SGA and Bridges).
