If you've never read Hugh Howey, you're missing out. One of the best contemporary sci-fi writers out there. His big hit series, Wool, is about a society of people living in underground silos after a mystery world-ending apocalypse. Highly recommended
I read the first book and definitely recommend it -- I need to finish the series - hopefully the show is good.
Wool is amazing. I’ve recommended the series to so many people but few actually read it. Sand was good too but Wool is awesome. Hope they don’t screw it up but considering it is all indoors should be easy to replicate on the screen.
It's been a minute since I read Wool. I can't even recall what I read, but I'll have to check him out again. Especially if Amazon's got it now.
His twitter is really interesting. Dude is going on sea explorations by himself, putting himself in critical danger, and emerging back on land like a rustic pioneer of the past. While different experiences, the feelings he described on his latest voyage mirror some of those I've had climbing mountains. Being alone in nature or at sea really makes you feel human again. Sorry for the rando change of topic.
Fascinating guy. I've found that a lot of great authors have had some crazy life experiences and wildly varying careers. And several great Fantasy/Sci-Fi authors are Mormons, which seems weird to me since they're writing about non-biblical stuff, but whatever.
Dang, I'm only two books into the Wheel of Time series, so it'll be a while before I finish that. I hate stopping in the middle of a series to read something else, so I'll have to put this series on the back-burner. But definitely sounds like it is up my alley.
Actually Re-read Wool last year as I had forgotten most of it. Still a great story and hoping Apple does it justice. Will watch
Nice! So many shows to keep up with, I forgot about this one. Loved the books so will have to give it a watch. Initial reviews seem good.
