    hmm...grunge is one of the few genres i can think of that is explicity regionally specific. mention the word and everyone immediately thinks 'seattle'.

    saying texas country is regionally-specific is too niche.

    but also, cajun music (louisianna-far east texas), jamaican dub (kingston), afrobeat (lagos), ect.

    my initial point stands though! grunge is synonymous with seattle and the pacific northwest.

    this has to be one of the grungiest songs that ever grunged. i had a sub-pop compilation (sub pop: the grunge years) from 1992 or so and this was the first song on it.

    Love Battery was a band I thought was underrated and checks the boxes (Seattle, Sub Pop). They lean more psychedelic than the others.

    For categorization purposes I tend to classify a lot of 90s rock that has a similar aesthetic to the Seattle grunge bands as "grunge." If it's something that has a similar aesthetic, but I don't like it, then I label it post-grunge. :)

    My primary guitar is a Les Paul Studio edition (it doesn’t have the enamel finish). My main amp is a Marshall MG 100 series. I also use a Peavey Bandit 112 and have a couple of other guitars too including a Guild acoustic, a very old Ibanez that is essentially a copy of a Gibson Jazz Master and a knockoff Telecaster.

    Gruntruck and Skin Yard are 2 great grunge bands like Love Battery that no one knows about for the most part.
