Point Guard Kennedy Chandler -waived by the Grizz. Should Rockets go after him

    I liked him in the draft. Looks like he shot pretty badly in the limited time he had on the court. We shooters and can barely develop the guys we have now.

    Rumors is that this wasn't a basketball related cut. This is likely related to the Ja Morant situation.

    You wouldn't cut your rookie locked in for 3 years at ~$2m/year.

    I rated him higher than TyTy coming out of college. Better defender, better floor general, better shooter. The knocks on him were size - hard to be an impact defender at an NBA level when you are only 6'0, unless you are CP3; and low free throw percentage - which has high correlation with 3pt prowess not translating to the NBA. He actually did well on the defensive end in limited minutes, but his 38% from 3 in college plummeted down to around 20% between G-League and NBA. A guard that cannot shoot doesn't have a long shelf life in this league.

    Worth a Summer League / camp invite, to see if he can improve his shooting, he has everything else.
