I voted Wemby but I have to admit his continued growth is scaring me given the injury history of freakishly tall players,

At the same time, we can't just keep drafting guards and wings either. The question with tall, athletic big men will always be whether or not their talent is worth the higher potential of injuries risk.

Good news. If we miss out on Victor at #1 we can draft his sister Eve or wait a few years and draft his younger brother Oscar. We can't lose

Has anyone Victor’s height avoided chronic lower body injuries in the league?

Kylor Kelley* is a 7 foot twig who isn't a bruising power player. not exactly that difficult for Scoot or any other guard that has at least some strength

Wemby's frame screams chronic injuries, but if you have the number one pick, you absolutely have to take him. Still, it wouldn't surprise me at all if history shows the team drafting number two actually lucked out, because talent is worthless when it's sitting on the bench in street clothes.

For the sake of argument, however, imagine a GM drafting Scoot number one, and then Wemby's career is plagued by injuries, so the team selecting him at two is screwed. That would go down as the most ballsy draft day decision of all time.

We can't let fear drive this decision. Think of it this way.

Chances healthy Vic is a hall of famer:
    99%

Chances Vic is injured all career:
I'll be generous and say 50%

I'll take those odds. Also it's hard to find a historical height + athleticism comparison because he's a true 1/1 super ancient mythical unicorn. Kareem would be the closest probably. Yes a lot of guys that tall get injured but they also don't walk or move properly.

I’d like to see stats on percentage of games missed due to injury for players 7’ 3” and taller.

Wemby is the better prospect but Scoot will probably be the better (and healthier) player.

But if Allison Brie asked me out on a date I'd definitely say yes.

Mark Eaton was the ironman of super tall guys

He averaged 81 games a season his first 10 years, in year 11 he only played 64. averaged 28.8 minutes a game total.

He entered the NBA at age 26, because he spent his first years after high school... working as an auto mechanic? Because nobody bothered to teach the 7 foot 4 guy how to play? A different era.

    Are character issues a concern?
