    With consequences. Huge spike in hate crimes against Asian Americans started in 2020 and continue through 2021 and 2022.

    If Biden had said "China Virus," the consequences would have been less. Biden does not have a racist tag attached to him, whereas Trump does.

    He implied that it was man-made (which is still wrong to date). People still easily associate lab-leak with man-made.

    But his larger point isn't whether he is right or wrong, but that there is much less room for nuanced discussion. He opposes absolutism and complete dismissiveness of other possibilities.

    The Ring Wingnuts would actually be on the side of "Hey, That's Racist!" and would be firmly against Asian Hate (since Biden appears to be for it).
