Mac needs to come to the realization that the majority of Harris County especially Houston proper doesn’t agree with him.

He’s predominantly beloved in the city but being woke about perceived voting record issues is going to make him go broke.

This is as tone deaf as Tilman bringing Ken Paxton to Toyota Center.

Beats me. I never shopped there. Heck, I've lived in Austin since 1980. You tell me?
I've heard that he's been generous with charities.

I still admire him for what he did during Harvey and other disasters and how much of A Houston sports homer he is. I don’t agree with him on going in on election denying or MAGA but I don’t think one wiped out the other.

I still think we can like and be friends even with those we don’t agree with politically. We should be willing to call out and debate things but still get along.

Nah. American society is declining because we celebrate people like him.

I think it's declining because people aren't capable of recognizing that all people make good and bad choices. One doesn't erase the other.

It would be different if he said that he was sorry and regrets his charitable works.

I think it's fair to praise those and at the same time call him out for being offensive on MAGA and bogus election claims. I feel like it's even okay to decide that tips the scales in favor of disliking him or not shopping at his stores or whatever.

But it still doesn't erase his good deeds.

I think there would be a lot more understanding and less polarization if we realized folks make decisions we agree with and decisions that we don't. But neither one nor the other defines the whole person. It is the sum of them.

That's my point. Praising charitable contributions by wealthy people who lobby a system that is causing the king downward economic trends.

I'm tired of buying in business owner pr regarding charity. Did Mattress Mack sacrifice anything meaningful that effects his quality of life by doing charity? I doubt it.

Let's not pretend this is about having rational disagreement. I'm not here to debate Mattress Mack. I'm here to express that Mattress Mack is a symptom of our economic system run amuck and being run by self interested people who want us to keep on doing this type of praising for charity.

Actually Mattress Mack did. He used his stores as shelters for flood victims and gave out his personal cell number to help victims.

It went beyond having his financial guy move some assets.

If millions of mattress macks didn't exist in America voting for their self interests to **** over poor people, maybe we wouldn't need to rely on charity to house victims of natural disasters in the US. We aren't a third world country that should need relief charity. But here we are, the wealthiest nation on the planet that needs charity to house victims of natural disasters.

By having 400 people sleep and have their pets at his store, donating his personal time to take calls and help folks at his personal number, and losing the furniture on which the people were sleeping for days.

Not having his store open at a time when flooded home owners might have been in the market for furniture.

Damn I was hoping you'd have referenced the song about suing the county I'm trying to think of (you can't win, if you believe the song).
