Just seen this kids highlights and profile and my goodness!!!

We MUST draft this kid and pair him back with Cade.

Lucas and Silas will do wonders for his mental development:

His body doesn’t even seem to even have filled out yet either.

This is the type of player I want on my team for sure.

    KPJ
    ?
    Brown
    Cade
    Wood

Frim the highlights, it looks to me he's not afraid of physical contact. Or at least it seems to be an accepted part of the game.

I think he'd be a better fit with Christian Wood instead of Evan Mobley. Or can Stone sign both Brown and Mobley? Maybe Jaylen Green and Greg Brown.

Rockets would suddenly be a very colorful team -- green and brown.

24th pick? Or still too high?

I say yes, he's a freak athlete and has some skills...and John Lucas can help get his head straight, right?

You absolutely take a flyer in the late 1st on a guy with that much natural talent, when your entire team is lacking in actual talent.

eta: or early 2nd round or whenever, that's a guy you take a craps table chance on

Meh. Don't see it. Deep draft. Wouldn't waste a pick on him

Late picks are lotto picks, if you hit you hit...you absolutely take a shot on talent like that.

He seems pretty similar to KJ, 6'7 forward on a slim but incredibly athletic frame, is there for the drive and dunk, lob, blocks, boards, and corner 3

Not a reliable shooter, can't handle the ball at all outside of straight drives, can't facilitate, can't create offense, can't hold true bigs or quick guards

Hard to say I wouldn't want another KJ, but clearly, an issue of his is mentality and BBIQ, and guys who are lacking in that area aren't exactly coming into a stable environment in Houston with us being one of the worst teams, tons of lineup changes, rookie coach etc

It's a confusing sell to pick a guy at 24 whose comp is the guy who we picked up in the late 50's last and DOESN'T have mentality and BBIQ issues... but maybe I'm making too much out of a 19 year old playing confused his first year out of high school, perhaps he could really blossom after a year or two with the vipers.

Maybe trade back with #24 into the early 2nd round, pickup Greg and a couple of future 2nds or something

I just don't think the elevator goes all the way to the top with him. Can't seeing him ever putting it together. He's definitely a great athlete but that's it

Brown is 6'9" with a reported 7" wingspan. I see the KJ comparison but those few inches in height and wingspan can make quite a difference. Maturity is a concern and might be one of the bigger reasons he has fallen like he has, but then again he is 19 like you said. With regards to IQ and coming from a Longhorn, I can tell you Shaka Smart really lacked in this department, especially with his big men.

Oh that's very true. The only thing holding him back is between his ears, but I don't see how you can say "never" about an 18 year old kid.

Never is harsh admittedly but I just think there will be other guys there that will be better options. If they acquired a second rounder and grabbed him I'd have less of a problem

To me, Brown is a wasted lotto talent. Can do it all, but hasn't got it all together.

Worth a 2nd round pick and heavy Gleague minutes OR send him overseas to play for a couple years. But I'd be surprised if he pans out. Something wrong there mentally.

A lot can change in two years. Went from a projected lottery pick to an actual second rounder to out of the league.

All the talent in the world but a total ****ing knucklehead.

He and Whitley are on the same page as far as I'm concerned.
