Really interesting kid. His dad was World Champion Arm Wrestler (28 times!) and Tyson won 2 state championships in HS, but received no major offers. Went into the transfer portal and had WV and Maryland make offers, looked like he was going, but then figured he'd need an additional 30+ hours to graduate and stayed at Shepard. Snippet from Athletic article... "Bagent certainly checks a lot of boxes that scouts are looking for at the position, hence the heavy interest from NFL scouts. He has a projectable body at a verified 6-3 1/8 and 220 pounds, with 9 3/8-inch hands. He isn’t a dynamic athlete, but he can create with his functional footwork and a live arm. Shepherd runs a spread, RPO-based offense, and Bagent is able to threaten every inch of the field, showing the accuracy and efficiency to hit his targets in stride." His stats (even for Div II) are phenomenal... Here's about a 20 minute interview with him... Here's some game film, misses a lot of passes high early on, but start at about the 5 minute mark and there are some interesting plays to watch... He won the Harlon Hill trophy (Div II Heisman equivalent) as a Jr, but the odds are against a Div II QB getting drafted. Last Shepard U player to be drafted was in 1960!
“As a kid, I dreamed of playing football at the highest level and after much prayer, I've made the decision that its time to turn those dreams into a reality. With that said, l am declaring for 2023 NFL Draft.”
Anderson is likely to be there. That's who I want anyway. It's really a matter of who your second choice is, not just for QBs but for players. We need linemen, but they are further down the draft board and need a year to show they can protect our Goat from next year.
The rumor is the Colts would be eyeing Levis from what I've read. That could all change, of course. I heard a bears insider say the colts would be willing to trade Pittman in a package to move up. Of course, I believe basically nothing I hear right now.
I don’t think the Colts will trade up. If they are definitely going QB 2 of Young, Stroud, and Levis will definitely be available at 4. I personally like Stroud but done think he’s worth a top 5 pick. If I’m the Texans I would hire Demeco and go defense at 2 and 12.
Agreed.. most believed if Stroud didn’t come out that Colts would move up. With him coming out I see them waiting also at 4.. One of Levis/Stroud/Young should be there at 4.
I think the shuffle was going to happen regardless. Levis for example will put on a show at the combine and his pro day. I see him skyrocketing.. possibly even to the top.
This weekend the big strong arm kids at QB played really well. Some of the smaller ones didn't play at all.
