This is not a response to you JR but…. Broncos have the Niners first round pick THIS year and their own next year so Sean Payton is definitely in play for them.
Prepare for a major case of blue balls. All these tweets.....if I remember right, there were a ton of tweets during last year's search and none of them mentioned Lovie. So take them all with a grain of salt.
Just waiting for all the battle-fighters to consider this a "win". Not actually hiring him... but simply getting him to agree to an interview. Frankly, if its this hard... you're probably not going to be successful in the pursuit.
I mean this seems like more of a CYA by Wilson. He’s been the only one reporting that Demeco didn’t want to interview. Although this is the Texans we are talking about so anything is possible.
Well, it is kind of a win, no? Despite the national drive-by media pushing their narrative, one of the hottest coaching candidates will probably agree to interview. Oh and it happens to be a minority candidate who played for the franchise and knows the McNairs pretty well.
Since there are only 32 possible jobs available, anyone who aspires to be a head coach in the NFL cannot afford to turn down any interview requests for fear of being blacklisted by teams in the future. Now I know DeMeco's camp is hearing all of the "racial chatter" about Texans. And you be sure other teams are using that against them as well. If I'm DeMeco, I'd accept the interview just for appearances sake. I'd give the Texans a taste of their own medicine and use them to get what I want.
They should e offered Ben the job when they had him in the building. Worst case scenario we’re back here next year holding true to Texans tradition.
No, the coaching search last year involved a few decent names, but only a few decent interviews. I'd be happy with most of these candidates
Also Demeco played here which the media can’t deny. By an accounts he is held in high regards in the organization.
I'm not basing this on anything, but I think it's just a hunch. I think Cal will interview Demeco, and at that point the Texans will do whatever it takes to make him out coach. Including money (I don't think Demeco cares about money), Andre Johnson and whatever former players he can muster.
