I wonder why McClain's tone on Caserio has changed in the past year. Go back and listen to his podcast back when they fired Culley. He said the time is ticking on Caserio to get it right this time and there's no way Lovie Smith would be another one and done coach. Now he's out here defending Caserio so that he can pick a 3rd coach. It's not right and I don't expect anything to change for the better with this franchise. Not the SA, the football stuff. But Watson wanted out far before that and that was based on his interactions with the FO including Caserio. I mean in the end Watson was right, knew this team was going nowhere, wanted out, had no confidence in the FO or coaching, rightly so it seems.
Lovie probably knows details about why they pivoted to him during their coaching search that he could use to strengthen Flores' discrimination suit. He never should've been hired, but from the outside looking in, it's a shitty way to run an organization. The dysfunction will continue for at least another year with Caserio still the GM.
