    Look up usage %
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1039116-understanding-the-nba-explaining-advanced-offensive-stats-and-metrics#:~:text=Usage Rate (USG%)&text=Usage rate calculates what percentage, usage rate of 20 percent.

How a guard who doesn't shoot can have a lower USG% despite having the ball
every possession.....KPj is closer to average (20).

Not the ball hog implied by many here. Doncic is.

This is exactly correct. Classic case of EG setting up KPj.

If KPj went into the stands EG would be first man back and scan the floor.
moved over to pick up KPj's man. Instead he deliberately stayed in the
center of the court where coverage was already there.

KPj did not go into the stands, but EG would clearly see KPj's man had a
two step advantage back to our end......still should have favored that side of
the court even if kPj was sprinting back.

    Eric Gordon needs to go!!

Been sick the past few days but can respond now.

In 19/20 Silas ran the offense at Dallas and Doncic was in his second season.

And yes Doncic is a phenom as he has been playing in pro leagues since
age 16......but he and the Mavericks have not been the offensive efficient
machine that they were while Silas was there in 19/20.

Rockets and Mavs have kinda flip-flopped since then.

    per NBA.com
    -- -- --
    Isolations 19/20
    1) Houston 22.6 possessions (Capela was traded for more Iso)
    11) Dallas 7.1 (Doncic was 4.3 poss) [SILAS]

    Isolations 21/22
    10) Dallas 9.0 [JASON KIDD]
    13) Houston 8.1

    Isolations 22/23
    1) Dallas 13.7 [JASON KIDD]
    12) Houston 8.2
    _____________

    PnR (Ball Handler) 19/20
    10) Dallas 23.0 poss [SILAS]
    30) Houston 11.3 poss

    PnR (Ball Handler) 21/22
    10) Dallas 20.4 poss [JASON KIDD]
    17) Houston 17.8 poss

    PnR (Ball Handler) 22/23
    2) Houston 24.2 poss
    24) Dallas 16.4 poss (Doncic 7.6 poss) [ JASON KIDD]

    ______________
    PnR (Roll Man) 19/20
    5) Dallas 8.0 poss [SILAS]
    30) Houston 5.0 poss

    PnR (Roll Man) 21/22
    10) Dallas 6.8 poss [JASON KIDD]
    11-12) Houston 6.7 poss

    PnR (Ball Handler) 22/23
    7) Houston 7.5 poss
    8) Dallas 7.4 poss [JASON KIDD]
    ________.

Silas is trying to implement his system where Dallas is going predominantly Doncic
    in the past two seasons.

    Rockets PnR (Roll Men) current
    Kenyon: 1.2 poss......40.6 NBA percentile
    Sengun: 3.7 poss......41.7 NBA percentile
    Garuba: 0.8 poss......62.9 NBA percentile
    Bruno: 1.4 poss.......74.7 NBA percentile

I've said it before, Sengun is the square peg we are trying to fit in the round hole.

Not sure Silas will get the chance to finally get that screen setting roll man he
wants for his system. Rumblings are strong of Silas firing.

    Wembanyama could be a force.

Ideally Silas would like Amar'e Stoudamire we a 3-pt game.

Haven’t read this whole thread… and maybe someone has said this already… it’s about value.

he is the whipping boy because the rockets can ONLY get the max value out of him if he reaches his full potential in Hou. His value in a trade diminishes tremendously because of his reputation.

he is in the ultimate high risk (trade for lesser value), high reward (finds his home in HOu and taps into the best version of himself) scenario with the rockets.

he is super talented, but tough to trade for .50 cents on the dollar

The only reason to keep him is if you honestly believe in him and you are trading others because his value unless he becomes a SuperStar will always been lower than his production.

KPJ is not a robot, he doesn't have to follow unwritten rules. I'm glad he dunked on the whole Timberwolves team just staring at him. Everyone else is scared to make a statement play like that...

He was showing everyone who the head honcho is. I wouldn't have put it past him to flex as well.

KPJ actually seems to be playing better lately. Still does some boneheaded plays but I think he's just cast into a bad role. He shouldn't be the point guard. He should be a scorer. Cuz he's the only one on the team that can shoot.

It was a statement, KPJ is not one to play by the rules. This is important for a franchise player and leader. KPJ is young and like every young player he makes some bone headed plays but the end of the game tonight really showed we don't have a quitter. He wants to win. The hell with what anyone thinks, he had a great dunk for the fans and the other team just stood there in shock.... I like it.... Hopefully he does it every game.

Exactly right, make or miss league and our team is full of missers.

Pal, I don't think a dunk on garbage time (worse yet, on "hands down" time) is an "I want to win" statement. Actually, it is very far from that. Anyway...

Jalen Green was yet again absolutely pathetic on both ends of the court, as a result, I expect this thread to get really toxic the next few days.

So you rather him dribble the ball out and do nothing?
