Silas needs to be fired for the way he treats Alperen Sengun

It has always been Sila's intention to start Bruno, he did at the beginning and if Bruno was healthy that's your starter for Silas. Look, I understand HOF... Harden has been really really good in the regular season for a long time and he had some amazing plays early on. Even movies like Super Mario Brothers and The Room gather cult followings of people who love them despite how awful they are so why not a great player like Harden? But you are going down the path of being a Silas only fan. Don't listen to @jiggyfly, he will mislead you and you will be wrong 98% of the time you chose to defend Silas. This is not the guy you want to defend. He is an awful coach, he has no clue how to use Sengun and he won't be here long. Don't make Silas your hero.

 

They have been running Alpi as the roll man quite a bit recently, particularly when KPJ sits and Green is the primary facilitator.

Green's efficiency in the pick and roll is identical to last year's points per possession of 0.81.

 

Sengun needs to average 30 minutes a game and 15 touches as well. Silas needs to give him a chance and then his next development will be his outside shooting(3 point line)

 

What's funny is that Silas is giving him everything you want ....

Averaging 26.9 minutes and equates to roughly 68 possessions on the floor and a 22% usage comes out to ~15 possessions for Sengun.

The base stats bear that out as well - With those 15 possessions:

he takes 10.3 shots
averages 2.4 assists
averages 2.3 turnovers - the turnover rate is 15.4% which is entirely too high.

So tell us, is Silas letting him develop or is he sabotaging him ???

 

Sengun is only 20 years old and played toe to toe with the two time MVP. Even The Joker said, the Rockets needs to run their offense through Sengun. Everyone know this, the rockets fans, NBA experts and other NBA players.

 

Silas should have played Sengun for at least 30 minutes tonight, he had 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Silas needs to play Sengun 30 minutes a game

Sengün is one of a kind, unique star quality caliber, now no wonder a pedestrian coach can't grasp that.

 

Alpy looked terrible running the PnR this preseason and has already made strides a quarter of the season in. FWIW, I think it would be more valuable to run him in the high post and let him make reads like we used to do with Brad Miller in the Adelman days, instead of KPJ pounding the rock half the game. But developing PnR chemistry with Jalen and KPJ isn’t wasted effort IMO.

When joker himself says think we should b playing through sengun even MORE, there is your answer about whether silas really wants to develop sengun or is sabotaging him.

I gave Silas the benefit ot the doubt last season with sengun mins bc the man himself needed an oxygen tank to play mins, but there's really no excuse this season.

More sengun mins and let him b the offensive hub.

 

No way Jose is Silas intentionally sabotaging Sengun. Coaches/managers are always stubborn in their ways. That's the problem.
You can run both styles of offenses, whatever it is that Silas runs and an unselfish brand of Sencentric ball.

I saw a tweet by big Sarge letting Silas off the hook by saying Silas has gone from a 5 0ut offense to a 4 out and 1 in offense. That's still not true. Touches are happening for Sengun like Bruno was out there. Until you get 8-11 posts up per game then you're speaking some truth.

How slow was Denver's offense made by Jokic last night? If they didn't use Joker they would have scored 150 pts instead of 129! 11 posts ups for Joker.

 

No 4out-1in there. Sengun still gets more than half his touches at the 3-pt line, where he's ineffective except for some screens and handouts.
