This is all part of the rebuild. We all know they'll suckass and get high draftpicks. They just need to stop fcking hiring scapegoat coaches...seriously.
That’s exactly the point though. It’s a rebuild from a rebuild that maybe hasn’t even started yet? The Texans would have been better off just not even playing the last two years compared to where they are now. There’s no foundation. No clear leadership. No clear vision. And definitely no expectation that ownership will somehow become competent… normally you may rely upon those persons history of success in the corporate world or a track record of leading multi-billion dollar deals… but the Texans have an owner who is largely rich because of his family and inheriting the Texans. They probably won’t realize it till the franchise value and revenue continues to go down… but this isn’t just a matter of picking the right or wrong coach. It’s literally a business that is failing in a league where it’s almost impossible to fail this badly.
I know ask the Lions who haven’t had a double digit winning season since….2014!!! Or the jets since 2015 You get my point
Don't forget his HC hires, including flirting with McCown. Nick also wants to be the de facto HC - he's not going to hire anyone who is going to have their own ideas and culture, just fall guys. Cal attracts power hungry guys like BOB, Easterby, and Nick - nature abhors a vacuum.
And yet Cal doesn't let his power hungry guy chose his own head coach? Its dysfunctional... again... just as soon as they seemingly had to do exorbitant measures to cure the last dysfunctional set-up. There's one common denominator to the dysfunction and its not going to change, thus every reason to continue to be frustrated and pessimistic that this franchise could ever figure anything out.
You really think Somebody like Caserio with his resume and football IQ and as football savy as he is said oh yeah this Culley guy can coach?…you really think Caserio after interviewing Gannon KOC and Flores said naw Lovie is better??
No, I think Nick picked fall guys while he orchestrates a tank. Also, Caserio doesn't have a resume - he has no experience apart from the Pats. The entire Pats organization is a sham - just a bunch of guys riding Tom Brady's coattails. And nothing Caserio has done since he's gotten here has shown any "football IQ".
Nick Caserio's one and only accomplishment so far as Texans GM is not being named, "Bill O'Brien." Beyond that, he's been a debacle, and it's nice to finally have some people join me on the bandwagon. He was recommended by Jack Easterby and hired by Cal McNair, two all-time morons. No one should be the least bit surprised Caserio is also a moron.
As a HC Belichick has a 48% winning percentage in games not started by Brady, yet we keep hiring people from New England like he's some kind of genius smh.
The rebuild started with the Watson trade. People seem to forget that point. The Texans were held hostage in 2021, stuck in purgatory.
He's the best head coach of any sport ever, IMO - but, unless he's coming with all these cast-offs, his system is not going to work anywhere else. And, yes: less so without Brady to run it.
Attempts to pump up Nick being on the phone with Belichek feels similar to trying to pump BOBs coaching prowess by showing him yell at Brady that one time.
Did they? BOB took the team as far as Kubiak did. I dont judge people by where they come from, only the works they do and so far in his 2 years Caserio has cleaned up the cap mess and had a good 1st full draft class.
Ok fine, but who the **** would want to come coach this absolute shitshow right now?? Anyone with even a shred of instinct and vision for the future would look at this team's org chart, culture, and roster and realize that staying put in a lower position with a better team would be a better move for their career. Whoever takes this job next will 100% NOT be the head coach if/when this team ever becomes competitive again. There's simply too much that needs to change.
