Just cause baggy clothes are "in" now again on the fashion cycle and especially these old rock band printed shirts are meant to look like the ones with no shape that you'd buy from a souvenir store.

Green scoring in all ways today and showing why people shouldn't give up hope for him. Today's nationally televised and he loves playing under the bright lights

Jalen had a great night with efficient scoring (55% FG to go with 50% 3pt) but this loss was tough to take. He single handedly brought us back in the 3rd only to see us give it away in the 4th. Too many turnovers and no offensive flow for much of the 4th qtr.

Would have been nice to have Sengun in the 4th to slow things down or maybe a point guard that could control the tempo better. Know the Rockets aren't focused on wins and losses but they should have won this game.

When Jalen gets into a rhythm, his ball handling gets crisper, too. I think he really is noticeably better than last year, and I'm glad it seems like his mini-slump is behind him. It was fun to watch him against the Pelicans, and no fun to see us go away from him in the fourth, as seems to be typical of this Rockets team for the last season-and-a-quarter.

That said, boy is it entertaining to see Green cooking, and it seems like he has a pretty great rapport with his teammates, even Jabari (who gave him maybe the best oop of the season so far).

Green was very good on defense last night. He really made life difficult on McCollum. He was deftly navigating screens and consistently contested every shot. I think it was his best defensive performance in his career.

Offensively, it’s baffling how he is not more involved offensively in the 4th quarter. This is the third game this year where he almost drops 30 in 3 quarters only to be marginalized in the 4th. It doesn’t make any sense.

Some not so surprising stats, but Jalen Green struggles in back 2 back games when he lacks rest. He is significantly better with rests however.

Sample size is still relatively small since it's only 13 games into the season, but at least some of Green's mini-slump is attributable to fatigue.

Here are the highlights of last night. He's developing his playmaking for others, creating his own shot, and getting his points in the flow of the offense for easier shots.

I think as he learns his opponent's defensive weaknesses on film, gets stronger, even more athletic, and realizes the majority of the league can't stay in front of him or guard him, he can be an efficient 30pts, 5-6 rebs, and 5-6 assists each game.

Thank you for this info. This is something I’m going to take notice of in the future. Still, 17ppg isn’t too bad. Field goal percentage is horrible though.

If you are averaging 22 ppg at decent efficiency at 20 years of age in the NBA you will average multiple 30 ppg seasons.

Scorers aren't usually this good at this age. Look at Lavine, Beal etc.

Green's defense coming along nicely. Showed that clutch gene again for a minute in the fourth quarter draining 3 of 4 3pters to strike fear in the Pelicans. Unfortunately the team let him get cold. They're young, it happens.

No surprise he torched Herb Jones's team. Green doesn't let go of grudges easily, but that's really common among great players. It's not Herb's fault, but you have to make the point if someone talks ****.

I feel really sorry for people who don't see what's unfolding. Jalen is on his way to becoming an elite scorer in the NBA and eventually in NBA history. It's so impressive the way this 20 year old kid - who showed up to the NBA last season raw as F*CK - is scoring almost 22 points on 18 shots on a road-heavy crazy tough schedule to start the season and on a team that sucks at executing the offense. He's going to flirt with 25ppg this season.

Handles have to get slightly tighter and defense has to gradually get better, but it's hard to imagine he won't do those two things given his work ethic and recent progress.

I still can't believe Silas said that he wasn't a ball handler and that the offense couldn't run through him, smh. The kid is 20 and clearly showing that he could potentially develop the facilitating aspect of his game. C'mon Silas!

TBF, Green's handles are still a bit lackadaisical currently. The only reason KPJ is our "point guard" is because he has the "tightest" handle out of all the players though this can be hard to see in face of the crater that is his overall decision making ability.

Yes the main thing holding Green back from KPJ's spot is ball security but the past couple of games imt seeing more ball on a string handles from Green.

His ball handling playing with screens is actually impressive

Let's put it this way, Green's handles are looking impressive enough lately that opposing team commentators who don't follow the Rockets thought his ball handling was one of his strengths that got him a 2nd overall pick.

his handle is tighter, his jumpshot is more compact.. remember when we were worried about his landings? those have really cleaned up as well. he's taking better angles to to the rim.

overall he looks like a completely refined player compared to his g-league days. it's just repetitions for him now. the more he gets, the better he gets. hopefully we can get him a co-star to play with.
