I suspect it's day to day which means they don't know until they see him working out before the game.
What is the applicable rule if we use Vasquez at DH, and Maldy has to leave the game for some reason? I recall hearing that we can slide basque to C, but something about losing the DH? Does that mean the pitcher hits? I ask because it’s time to go for broke and DH Vasquez. Time and again, the DH spot in the lineup comes up with men on base and or in scoring position. We need a DH to come through.
Tonight is the night! An opportunity for the Astros to cement themselves as a dynasty, to make Dusty a lock for the hall and to free that 2017 team of any doubt that they were the best team in baseball. On top of that, I hope the Astros are classy enough to send Jeff Lunhow a ring if they can get it done. It’s literally his team.
Today, watching Wheeler is going to be like watching Javier in 2020. As soon as his velocity starts to dip, the contact is going to go up, and it is only a matter of how quick the hook is on whether balls start flying over the fence. I'm not sure whether it is gamesmenship or not, but the Philles are acting like he's seriously fatigued (extra rest, talk of using Ranger on short rest, velocity dropping in Game 2, thinking they put too much pressure on him coming back from injury per ballpark dimensions). He should be okay if he's 95 or up (Astros still might light him up, but he's got a fighting chance), but when we start seeing slower fastballs, it will be time to feast until the hook comes.
The pitcher or a PH hits. Pitcher might be a better option at the plate right now. If only we still had Greinke and his career 0.225 BA on the bench.
The stros win the World Series tonight. What a run but Philly is done. valdez is that ace to shut the door and finish this
I’m so excited about this game! Trying to decide if I should watch it with anyone else or lock myself in a room alone with a tv to avoid embarrassing people in Mn.
I contemplate doing this with my wife because I’m insufferable at times during these games lol. Silence to screaming profanity and throwing the bird at the tv to celebrating
Alright for you lot, I’ve got to get up in the middle of the night for this. Probs miss first hour though. Still haunted by 2019, so similar, 3-2 up, two games at home to come with Verlander and Cole as starters. All washed down with the amazing momentum of not only coming back from 0-2 but doing so entirely on the road. I mean, if you can’t convert that what do you need? …..And here we are. I do think we deserve to do it and so will. Just feel we will. Come on boys!!!!
I am not a pleasant person to be around during stressful games..at all. I learned this lesson years back Nonetheless, for the first time in a few years I made the mistake of going to watch one (game 1) with friends. As if the the results of the game itself weren't aggravating enough, I had to deal with baseball fans, who clearly became baseball fans 2 weeks ago and didn't have the slightest f**king clue what they we're talking about. It was a few hours of me making surly, short responses to people who were perfectly nice. I actually felt pretty bad about it the next day. So it was back to pacing my living room solo afterwards.
