Buster busted a nut when Nola was getting out jams early in the game and then tweeted nothing about Javier the rest of the night
If rain didn't prevent this scenario from happening the Phillies would likely be in a worse shape. Worse shape in that game and future games in this series They changed their Game 3 starter exactly because of that distinct possibility
Gurriel has been our consistent hitter after most Astros fans were calling for his retirement through most of the regular season. Baseball so weird.
I'm on that list. And Yuli sucks. I've railed on him for the last half of the year. So I'm sticking with the motivation.
Urquidy is the Astros leader in wins in the World Series (and was big in game 3 to prevent the bullpen from being needed). He's 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA in the world series.
Tied series after a bunch of folks gave up after game 1 and game 3. Now the stros put themselves in the great position once again to win the WS. Guaranteed to finish the series back home here. The stros are about to win 2 out of the next 3 games. Whatever that order is doesn't matter. They will be champions by this weekend if you're still actually complaining at this point, go watch the texans/rockets. They should satisfy your loser mentality
I was just looking at his stats. He literally hasn't struck out yet this postseason. Yesterday's no hitter seems very emblematic of the Astros roster construction. 2 of the pitchers (Javier/Abreu) were prospects signed under Luhnow, but transitioned to the majors under Click. 1 pitcher was an under the radar Click acquisition who has been great (Montero). The game was finished by an under the radar Luhnow acquisition who Click extended because he's clearly one of the best at his position (Pressly)
forgot to mention him Luis garcia, hunter brown, Javier, framber, and urquidy is all the starting pitching we need and they are all on very cheap contracts for now I saw let verlander walk and find a trade partner for lmj, so we can pay king tuck and build up our offense
A lot of you guys talk about LMJ being a bit of a head case at times and not doing well on the road. I am sure dealing with that guy while warming up didn't do him any favors. How many stadiums have an open bullpen like that?
Besides for DeGrom, Javier has been the best starting pitcher at preventing hits (i.e., lowest opponents' BA) since he's been in the majors. Javier's only issues have been control, endurance, and the long ball. His control has improved some, he's lasting longer in games without control/velocity waivering as much, and MLB "dejuiced" the ball some this year.
Even more than that. Yankees got lucky with Judge and we shut them up. Phillies downright obliterated us with the bats. Almost every hit was a homer. They were unstoppable. Until we literally stopped them completely. Hell even one of their 2 walks was a strikeout to Harper.
