omg guys...we just clinched last night and most of us were expecting a "hangover" lineup today. Most of our everyday starters are playing today and our injury prone slugger who we routinely let rest took a hard slide and has the day off, and people are STILL b****ing. If Yordan played today and got hurt we'd be calling for Dusty's head for playing him unnecessarily. This is getting outrageously stupid.
It's also a lineup incredibly similar to many lineups they have started all year. Yordan and Chas are out. That's not unusual at all.
Why do you continue to post crap like this? That lineup is similar to one that is seen quite often. Dubon instead of Chas and Yordan getting a day off. You think this is a "give up" lineup? Go have a look at your spreadsheet to see how many times Dubon has played instead of Chas and Yordan (or another one of the core offensive players) sits.
Dusty wanted to let the hitters see what McClanahan looks like in case we get to match up wit them is maybe a reason for the lineup
I think it's beyond outrageously stupid at this point. Shear idiocy to b**ch about this lineup the day after clinching the division. They will still clinch the top seed in the AL with relative ease and have no shot at overtaking the Dodgers. We could win this World Series, sweeping all the way through, and these same people will b**** about Dusty's toothpick or something even more inane.
It is partly a hangover lineup. Dubon in, but batting 8. Gurriel DHing. Maybe one spot too high, but he's not in the 2 slot. Mancinin at 1B. A Diaz getting PAs. A tough pitching opponent. I'm good with this line-up. It may be a long game though.
The whole I won't start McCormick even though he's great vs Lefties is just to throw the other manager off, right? That's all I got.
