Tune isn’t as good as Ward because Ward was elusive and better at feeling the rush. He was so good at turning a broken play (due to bad blocking or vanilla call) into a big gain. Having said that, Tune isn’t the problem. It’s the coaching. Three weeks of sloppiness. Zero focus. Three weeks of unforced errors and unsportsmanlike conduct. Now this week they’ve added fighting each other on the sideline. I’m sick of seeing Dana blowing up and shouting at people during the game. That’s not good coaching. That’s just a lazy tantrum. And I assume, because he does it all the time, the players just ignore it now.
Ker-Splat! That's the sound of preseason hype hitting the windshield of reality. And yes, the entire conference schedule is still ahead of us and a possible New Years 6, which was as high as we were ever going to do. But what watching Kansas showed me, is that we are not ready for prime time.
Because it's been 2 years now of stupid play you have to put it on coach. There was just as much dumbassery going on last year. Ward was a one man offense that was so good as to overcome the limited play calling.
