that remains to be seen. the upgrade in all other areas is well worth it. He's a great pick up. literally 0 reason for anyone to be down on this
Until we know the cost, hard to judge, but this is only a marginal upgrade. Though if Brantley doesn't come back... that becomes a pretty decent upgrade at DH/LF, but would be nicer if he was a LHB.

It’s a mutual option. With a small buyout there’s almost zero chance both sides pick it up. Either he’s worth more than $10M, in which case Mancini will decline, or he’s worth less, in which case Houston can decline.
Next year is a $10M mutual option, and he will almost certainly decline it as he can easily get more in the open market.
