The mexican citizens become criminals only after they cross the boarder obviously. It is also apparent that every mass shooter is an immigrant.
Beto O'Rourke can be insufferable at times but Abbott is the last guy to be telling someone they need to set aside their agenda. Is Abbott willing to set aside his agenda? This is the guy who has been more concerned with scoring political points than helping Texans whether during an unprecedented failure of the power grid or the gumming up trade at the border. Is he going to set aside personal agenda and to unite all Texans even though his base might not agree? Given his past performance and with reelection coming up I doubt it.
The GOP accuses Democrats of politicizing this as the GOP politicizes this. These guys have 0 concern for anyone but their pocketbooks and their power. If they were commanding armies, they would have no issue committing atrocities. They simply do not care about people one bit.
Again, in countries with no guns, gun violence is barely measurable. So yea, we have proof that if guns were illegal, there would be less gun violence. Silly logic. Law abiding citizens; can't take illicit drugs, must wear seatbelts, have auto insurance, abide by speed limits. List goes on and on. If nothing is illegal until you've done something bad, there is no need for any laws. We'd just have a black list. In a civil society, we all agree to a social contract for the better good. It's no a free for all.
Perhaps what is missing from a civil society is requiring mandatory combat training for all elementary school teachers. That is the utopia we are all after and obviously the pinnacle of a healthy, rational public.... I can't even begin to understand the logic.
Oh, we are bigger so we should just give up? No sense in trying anything? Not sure what your point is. As far as I'm aware, the only thing we've tried so far is relaxing existing gun laws including allowing the assault weapon ban to expire. As the laws have been relaxed, there is a tight correlation to increased gun violence. Care to explain that away? Any other ideas how to curb gun violence?
Always find the whining about politicizing issues like this pretty funny. Of course issues are being politicized...any actual solution is going to have to involve politics at some point.
Also for Lt Gov. Dan Patrick to be talking about how we all need to be concerned about lost lives and focus on that he was the guy who said "There are somethings more important than living" during the pandemic.

They don't think that. They just want to throw anything out there to deflect from what an rational person can see - that guns are a problem. They want to say it's because there aren't enough guns...or that you have mentally ill people and that's the problem. No the problem is that mentally ill people can get guns easily. The GOP is culpable for these kids deaths. Anyone who is fighting rational gun control has blood on their hands.
First of all I am a full supporter for gun control, in fact I’m a supporter of 0 guns. I grew up in nz, most gun owners here are for sporting or hunting, and we have a negligible number of mass shootings. Only one in memory was in chch a few years ago against Muslims, and that was done by a ****en kangaroo **** sucker. Now a serious question here as a foreigner, what causes these mass shootings? Seems like every time there is a shooting the debate is about gun control. There are many countries around the world that have guns but not have nearly as much mass shootings like this. I don’t think gun control can fully solve the problem (although it would definitely help), the underlying issue here is education, parenting and culture imho. If this doesn’t change, gun control alone won’t solve the problem, although would definitely reduce casualties.
The Sandy Hook kids would be in high school. The Columbine kids would be old enough to have kids in elementary school.
Not trying to be overly tasteless, but I keep seeing ads for this film. At first it seemed kind of amusing, but after recent events feels a little too much like a tragic documentary: "A new American reality, where people invent conspiracies, because the truth is too hard to take""
Mental health and/or extremism (either Islamic or White Nationalist) are the root causes for the violence, easy access to guns is the enabler of that violence on a massively destructive scale.
Maybe I got the order wrong. Maybe Brazil will follow the US when it comes to school shootings since they're behind in expanding their guns. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-59246083.amp
