Sengun Garuba 2022DP MartinJr ???? Green Christopher PorterJr ???? That's the immediate future I think.
Continue to believe the core is Green and Sengun, but if KPJ can grow out of his maturity issues, at just 21 he’s got to be considered part of the core as well. I think u could include Christopher if you commit to him as your 3. At 6’5” he’s undersized but I’d rather have him there than Tate, KJ, or another guard.
I don’t really care. If we started KPJ, Green, Jaygup, Jabari, Sengun we will be set up for a tremendous future. Tate is 6’4” and plays decent defense. With Tate, Garuba, and maybe even Fernandez we would have excellent front court depth. Play the hot hand in the front court and decent defense and we contend for a play-in next year and have tremendous cap space and plenty of draft capital the following year. KPJ and Jaygup are dogs on defense and will do fine guarding sf’s.
This board: “Yeah, but he occasionally makes a mistake and isn’t Chris Paul, so we should trade him for nothing and roll with Thicc Nix.”
My view is I try and envision a team ten deep and you need to have two all star / superstar level guys if you want to be serious about competing. With that said, here is where I see as guys that could fill out our ten man. (None) / (Christopher) (Green) / (none) (none) / (none) (none) / (Sengun) (none) / (none) I hoping the next two drafts fill the missing star problem. All these other young guys could possibly fill out your 8-10, but I don't see tremendous upside with many of them, other than average rotation player. Who knows, I could be wrong.
Rockets are going to take a major step next yr. Green, KPJ, Wood (YES WOOD), Sengun and this yr's pick, hopefully Jabari Smith. Plus, JC, Garuba, Bruno, Matthews and Schoerder. Rockets need another shooter and a big.
I'm pretty sure Green is the perfect height. It's destined. He's one of the purest SG's you'll ever see.
Those are not official only the NBA ones are. https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4432168/josh-christopher He is 6’3” DD
Wood would be fine if he could accept the role that Smith or Holmgren willingly will. He can't though. We may not get fair value in trade for Wood. Portland adding Wood/Tate/Nwaba to help Lillard next year may do a good bit for them though. Id trade all 3 of those guys to move up 6 or so spots.
Right now it is: KPJ Green Sengun Everyone else is on the block - and wouldn't be surprised if any of those 3 were as well. Everyone essentially is on the block. DD
