If Correa is resigned does Pena get traded? Maybe included for a starting pitcher if McCullers is out for the season?
IIRC , LMJ mentioned on a podcast that the lockout also affects player’s rehab schedules since they cannot use organizational facilities. Not sure it’s all on LMJ here. Unfortunate for sure regardless, hope he’s okay!
Possible but more likely Pena would be developed as a utility type, which is becoming more and more popular and especially with a guy like Click as GM
On top of that, you can do EVERYTHING right and still have a setback when rehabbing from an injury. Blaming Lance with no facts or background info doesn't make any sense, imo.
I want McCullers to be full go for the playoffs. I don't care if he doesn't pitch until after the all-star break. We have the depth and now we know why the Astros haven't moved Odorizzi.
The doctor who performed his surgery is not an employee of the team and there was nothing preventing him from offseason checkups/consultations/whatever.
He's also young and raw with minimal experience in MiLB due to injuries. If CC comes back on a short term (opt out) deal, there's no reason to trade him unless it's for a major piece, above avg SS on cheap contracts are not all that easy to find.
If we are going to make a move for a pitcher I would like to see them go after Montas, I get the sneaky suspicion when we see him dealt and look at the haul its going to be a "thats it??" type of reaction. Not sure if the A's would do a deal within the division tho but they are looking to shop him and Mannea.
