The “bullies” line is the only thing anyone is going to remember from Biden’s remarks. The portrait he painted of the era that Putin’s aggression is creating featured a curiously passive vision of the United States and its role in the future. In Biden’s telling, it won’t be the US or NATO that will reverse this world-changing infamy. No, somehow it will happen because of … history. “When the history of this era is written, Putin’s choice to make a totally unjustifiable war on Ukraine will have left Russia weaker and the rest of the world stronger,” he said. “Liberty, democracy, human dignity. I think Biden has been a pretty crummy domestic President, but there is no denying that he's handled the Ukraine conflict well. There was a great article this morning interviewing a myriad of European leaders saying that Biden and his staff have been working for about 3 months warning about Putin, freely sharing intelligence, and putting together plans. It was his work behind the scenes that led to the spectacular turn in Europe against Russia. Most of the punishing sanctions and responses were decided weeks ago, for the most part, and it is no accident how quickly Europe galvanized. Its not just he press secretary saying this, people in Europe are saying it as well. A week ago, there was 0 will amongst Europe to do anything to prevent invasion, because a lot of countries didn't think it would actually happen, especially at this scale. When they did invade, it triggered the diplomacy that Biden's been working on for months. No matter the outcome, it leaves a united Europe to deal with Russia, with US financial and military support as a backbone. As Europe coalesces and takes up their own defense, rather than always relying on the US like they've done for decades, it'll allow the US to focus almost entirely on China. If it works out, a "joined at the hip" NATO and Europe will handle Russia and perhaps even the Middle East, while the US can put its economic, diplomatic, and military might to push back against Chinese ascension. Putin's move against Ukraine may actually be the biggest cluster possible for both Russia and China.
So far, Biden has done a great job in terms of uniting western world and rally against Russian evil empire, without using military forces. I give him A- for efforts. Much better than Afghan episode. I will vote for him again if it is him vs Trump again. It is probably true that Putin wouldn’t have start the war if Trump was still the president, because he would have made a deal with Putin and sold Ukraine for a couple hundred million of his family business.
It's not the notion that the writer could do better, but rather stoking frustration/animus that the president should do better. At some point, we all go the way of Rome... Gas prices will drag him down again.

That's a terrible and unfair analogy -- herpes can strike politicians of any affiliation, whereas Os only afflicts the Dems.
I'm not for putting most people I genuinely disagree with on ignore, only a couple people who don't contribute anything at all here. Os is annoying at times but does bring a lot to the table when he's not trolling. I can't say the same for Trader or Mojo... I thought it was a decent analogy...lol.
