Republicans are the largest users of welfare, this is known just look at the all the red states that are the largest recipients. Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, etc.

While blue states like California and New York create the most tax revenue.

Never understood where this idea that Conservatives are some sort of bastion of work ethic. They are the takers in the US economy.

My office just had an all hands meeting yesterday saying anyone not vaxxed (without an approved exemption) by Jan 18 is getting fired and will not be eligible for unemployment.

Fun day on Zoom that was.

Where I work you are either vaxxed or you will do weekly testing on site. Bunch of idiots submitted religious exemptions. Legal looked at them and said no one is forcing you to get the vaccine so this doesn’t apply. You either comply or hit the road.

I’m sure all those geniuses will start their own businesses and become job creators though. Freedumb!

I promise you that this world you live in where the majority of the people believe as you is not real. It’s funny that you all will get louder and louder as the media and the government implement their fear campaign to stoke your cowardice. Eventually your all going to get squashed. This isn’t Australia. It’s a shame an entire country went down into a prison state because of cowards like you. That’s not going to happen here I promise.

Unemployment benefits have requirements on qualifications and disqualifications.

    Getting a vaccine isn't a requirement

Edit: Just read Donny's post, If the job requires a vaccine I guess that would be different but if you weren't required to be vaccinated when hired then I don't think not adhering to a requirement imposed after being hired is a disqualifier

once again, you're publicizing your poor reading comprehension

from the article, referenced by SamFisher

On Oct. 20, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds announced a crackdown on unemployment benefits. She required recipients to double their job search activity, and she imposed strict audits—with the threat of cutting off payments
to anyone who fell short—to ensure that “no Iowan who is receiving unemployment benefits unnecessarily remains on the sidelines” of the job market.

Nine days later, however, Reynolds signed legislation that pays vaccine refusers to do just that: sit on the sidelines. Under the new law, anyone “discharged from employment for refusing to receive a vaccination against COVID-19 …
shall not be disqualified for benefits.”

Reynolds is one of many Republican politicians who openly advocate, and in some states have successfully imposed, a two-tiered system of unemployment insurance.

It’s not a left-wing policy of money for everyone or a right-wing policy of money for no one.
It’s a policy of pernicious hypocrisy:
    • welfare for vaccine refusers,
    • tough love for everyone else.

Uhhh, that's not how it works. If a job adds a dress code and you refuse to comply and you either quit or get fired, you're not eligible for unemployment. Same if they change your hours, ask you to move to Podunk, TX, or anything else and you refuse. Why should it be different here?

We have federal contracts so the federal mandate applies to us.

Of course all of this is now tied up in courts so who knows when it will actually go into effect.
