Robinson also shut down the ice cream scoop shot on D. At this stage of his young career, Sengun is clearly uncomfortable if he has to shoot over someone bigger than him.

But Theis is clearly not a big enough center to compete with him either. If we are looking to upgrade the roster as the season goes on, finding some true length and size to compete with guys like Robinson would be a big plus.

Sengun shoots over bigger guys all the time, doing his no jump, quick baby hook. He gets them dancing and quick shoots when they aren’t ready to jump. They also don’t expect him to use his left hand equally.

he has to be really close in, for that, though,,,at least that’s when does it. But you right, overall, he really doesn’t shoot outside of 3 feet much, when in low post or driving.

A normal coach (I mean like Obradovic, Ataman, Messina, Rudy T., Adelman,George Karl,..) would recognise the Sengun-Robinson misfit from the earlier encounter and would find a solution. You can't repeat the same actions and expect different results (see Einstein).

Alperen will learn, it is a certainty but what about Rockets management? I am not sure.

Sengun is still our MVP. Hope we will see his Jersey will be retired next to other Rockets giants (Hakeem, Tomjanovich, Calvin,..)

He has been so good! Even on his low scoring nights he has kept his shooting percentages up and managed to get some assists, boards and use his body to play solid D.

this was just one game cmon alperen would have schooled him if silas would give him enough PT to get into RHYTHM, set him up, told his teammates to pass him the ball when he enters the game, ball in the right places, teammates to cut and hit open 3s, better spacing etc...

i am not worried about sengun i am worried about silas and lucas... that duo seems all time clueless !
if you have sengun caliber player your offense should work like a clockwork with finnese and intricacy instead with get a lot of ego, nwaba and dj dribbling around .....

evertytime alpi enters the game they look to pass the ball to the other side and its usually some dubious and pointless stagnating pass that ends in a lot of pointless dribbling...

i bet you any money if he were on the lakers lebron aint getting benched for theis

we are contenders just put him on the bench and give him occasional minutes when someone is out... dont stunt our development and increase L column by playing him

LOL so you are caught spouting out dumbalitics and you give no arguments but decide to deflect like this?
i will take that as admitting of you being wrong

he had a bad game? no...
lol its never simple like that....thats as simpleton as can be....

theres a reason why he had a bad game.... coaches didnt put him in position to succeed....to get into his rhythm and flow... to play to his strenghts

the fact that alpi overcomes bad coaching and bad teammates so often doesnt give coaches pass

would love to see how durant lebron steph would have looked if teammates dont pass to them, werent allow to ballhog, play 15 minutes per night alongside nwaba and house and come off the bench

yeah you wouldnt have recognise them

its ok you fall in love with silas smile so you think he is absolved of criticism

you love lucas fake toughness.. and that guy never taught anyone to shoot

Team misses Wood. Hard to replace 20/10 in the lineup with decent inside defense - he would have taken Robinson off the dribble consistently last night. Sengun looked real bad out there, maybe just gassed from the B2B. Team was sloppy with turnovers. Matthews rebounded well. Josh still shooting lights out. Theis improving that trade value. Still some positives from the loss. Get to see Cade on Saturday - Yay!

    Hakeem had Sam Perkins

Yao Ming had Mehmet Okur & Zaza Pachulia

    Sengun has Mitchell Robinson

That's exactly what I was saying. It's ALWAYS somebody else's fault when Sengus has a bad game. When he has a good game, it's because he overcomes bad coaching. Man, you have reached LOF status.

At some point injuries will take a toll. Wood and Porter both being out really hurt last night. 2 of their best players.... Still was happy how they mostly bounced back from the Cleveland game, they were right there until the 4th quarter got away from them. Hopefully they can start getting healthier. Still a lot of positives, really excited about the continued growth of Christopher, great to see- looking comfortable and confident.

    Excellent game for Theis.

    Was also a +10.

But truth is when Theis is the best player, Rockets do not win.
