Starting until he gets traded or someone else does. Not sure about long term fit. Good question.

You correctly assessed his defensive potential early on. I think what's surprising to me is how fast he's been able to do it. Having Jarrett Allen as a front court mate definitely helps but Mobley by himself is a menace.

People dismiss the WS/48 numbers but Mobley's current value right now (.135) is already has him 32nd in the entire league with minutes per game (>30 mpg) as the only filter/criteria.

Love Sengun. I wouldn't compare him to Mobley. Two completely different bigs. I think Mobley is more valuable in today's NBA, but I'm happy with Sengun.

I do know that Jalen Green has a LONG way to go to justify picking him over Mobley though. He can still do it.

Mobley is more of a defensive specialist but Sengun is on another level on offense. If Sengun was playing 25 to 30 minutes a game he could showcase his talent and he needs to shoot 8 to 10 shots a game. Sengun can play in this NBA today. He can shoot outside, great inside moves and he has enough rocks in his pants to handle centers. Sengun new nickname is Alphren "The Magician" Sengun

I know I'm a broken record at this point but Senguns minutes are stuck unless we trade Wood. Their net rating together is abysmal, and it's been even worse during the win streak. Every single time he tries to play these two together our lead evaporates instantly. It's clear that the two big lineups simply do not work with the way we play, you can put that blame on Silas or elsewhere, but regardless, it just does not work.

With that being the case, if Wood is playing 30+ minutes it is impossible for Sengun to play 20+ minutes. It's not possible if they don't share the court. If we can't figure out how to play them together, the only way to get Sengun more minutes is to bench Wood or trade him. And we all know Wood isn't getting benched.

Silas tries but he’s a foul machine, then team start to exploit it .. He’s also not the strongest rebounder

    I disagree.

Other teams can play 2 bigs with complementary skills but Silas cannot figure it out.

    Yet.

And Sengun would play more minutes IMO if he wasn't so foul prone.

Sengun is nowhere near the jump/run athlete that Evan Mobley is. Like not even close. He is still very effective and I've been wanting to see him start some games and watch him play vs other #1s and see the translation. He has to find a way to stay on the court and stop reaching and hacking. His footwork, post moves, passing all seem better than Mobley.

We cannot trade Wood but Coach Silas just have to figure out why, the Sengun/Wood combo do not work because they are our future frontcourt.

Wood? The Rockets are prepping Sengun to play with Sengun but Sengun has to improve on his 3pt shot to keep the court spread. IT'S COMING

Per CWood, during a postgame interview after the N.O game, they're working on it in practice. Sengun needs to improve his stamina and 3pt shooting

In this past year draft, Mobley was rated the #1 Center and Sengun was rated #2 Center by most NBA draft experts. If you play Sengun more you would see that many centers could not stop him. He can do it all: Shoot Outside, Handles, Unique Post Up Moves, Elite Passer and a Fierce Rebounder. Sengun can be a STAR in this league and other teams in the NBA is taking notice such as other team's commentators.

I love Sengun’s upside but he needs to learn to not foul.

Mobley averages 2.2 fouls per 36 min
Sengun averages 6 fouls per 36 min

Mobley is a better D rebounder and Sengun is better on the O boards so far. Overall they are roughly equal on the boards.

Actually his 3-pt % is more than adequate to keep defenses honest. He just doesn't prefer taking that shot, possibly believing that's someone else's job.
What's more, he presents the opponents with various problems just by being there because an easy bucket threat is just as effective as a 3-pt threat.

Yep it does suck that only one of our rookies warrants the attention and spotlight by his play.

He is shooting over 40% from 3. If there is a problem with his 3 pt shot, it is in hesitancy or maybe he needs to improve how quickly he shoots. HIs makes usually come when he is very deliberate.

Yeah this is the “if we can’t figure out how to play them together” part of my post, I should have elaborated. That would obviously by ideal if Silas could make that work, if he could turn Wood/Sengun into a positive lineup that basically removes the cap on Senguns minutes and allows him to be played as much as possible. But it’s a tall order, and even if he does improve his 3 point shooting I hope that doesn’t mean he’s relegated to a spot up shooter, he’s so much more than that.
