There's neutral fans actually rooting for the Astros to win the World Series because of Dusty. The calculated PR move paid off.

    definitely does.

I criticized dusty early on this series but I gotta say, he out managed the hell out of cora here.

I thought Dusty was awful managing the pitching staff during the regular season. He has been masterful in the playoffs. Kudos to him. Hope he continues to push the right buttons in the WS

I am excited. I think our players have the perfect perspective. They have experienced failure at the highest levels, they have experienced victory at the highest levels, and they are hungry. Dusty is also hungry. Confidence and humility are the perfect blend.

Yup, especially his mound visit to Framber right before the DP. I think he almost never makes a mound visit that doesn't involve removing the pitcher, so pretty surprising to see it, and he got the perfect result.

How can anyone not love Dusty after seeing this?! He sounds like the grandpa we all wished we had.

Honestly as someone who has been a coach of young men and women and also manage interns there is a lot to learn from Dusty.

    I want some oxtails.

I never disliked Dusty. Man, he did some dumb stuff with the pitching staff that cost us games. That being said, he has been very good in the playoffs these last 2 seasons.

    Best Dusty post season moment-

Julia: "How do I look?" (drenched in champagne"

    Dusty: " A wet chicken."

    Julia: " I don't even know what that means " (Laughs )

Dusty: " A pretty, wet chicken"

His moves have all panned out. There’s no debate there. Now was it masterful or just dumb luck? I’m not sure it matters much if the result is positive. I wouldn’t be heartbroken if we win the WS and he goes out on top.

How would you call the decision to start Garcia in this game, and then have him face the top of the lineup a second time, masterful? Dude was just pitching him until he gave up the big hit. Just winging it in an elimination game.

If Dusty isn't managing the Astros next season it's because there is no 2022 season due to the collective bargaining dispute.

Hmmm. How many runs did the Astros score? The pitching staff would have had to blank the Braves and the Astros would still be playing in extra innings because the offense produced NO RUNS. Players have to hit. 2 Homers in the Series? Dusty can't swing the bats for them too.

Bob Nightengale has been something else... so we'll see what that means?

Dusty can't pitch too, but the Stros gave up a lot of home runs in the Series. Most of these home runs by the Braves were artillery cannon shots, not catapult shots.

And didn't use the bullpen correctly in game 4.

Unfortunately you most likely will be correct.

There's a reason Dusty has won all of those games but no WS.
