Both by OP and by Green's overall play:

If there is nothing missing in his life, why do tears come at night?

I blame Breah Hicks for making Jalen nut in her everyday and causing him to lose his jumper/focus. There's a reason why coaches tell their players not to nut on game day

Ill wait til end of the season to see how far he has improved. However, i want to see some fight in him - on every defensive possession and boxingout. He has quit on plays more than ive seen a dog in him. I can live with the offensive growing pains, but not fighting is the most concerning. So far amongst the rookies that gets significant PT in the league, he is the most not ready of the physicality.

Jury is still out, though he has shown flashes - and at 19, that is kind of all you can expect, so hoping for significant growth this season.

I like Green, but I will be honest, I expected him to be a LOT better than he is right now, because of all the talk of the G-league and how he was NBA ready. He is not NBA ready, he is too soft, doesn't shoot all that well, hasn't learned how to harness his athletic gifts, and I see a lot of "Happy to be here" in him instead of a DOG that hates to lose.

I am so far, hopeful, but really thought he would be better at the jump.

Remember, Steve Francis was a number 2 pick as well, and he was WAY better than Green it seems coming into the league, though I am probably comparing Francis entire rookie year to just a few games so far.....so will pump brakes, but that is my expectation for him...at least as good as Franchise.

Jalen is a SUPERSTAR and he is a major piece to our future. He is a hard worker and he will get better. Sengun and Jalen are great pieces for us in the future.

Yep, we've seen the best he has in just 6-7 games of his career.

Francis was 3 years older his rookie year.

Yes, that is true, I thought of that, but both were number 2 picks. Franchise was 22, came out after his Junior year, and Green is 19, which would be after his Freshman year....

So, important, but that is my expectation, that he is at least as good, over time, as Francis.

I am glad the Rockets are 1-5, hopefully they go to 1-20 and then all the crybabies who were expecting us to win a ring this year ("if only we had a really great coach") will leave and go back to paying attention to the Texans or whatever.

I'm not expecting too much, but i guess i'll be happy if he finishes the season with a .400 fg % :p

To base his readiness on 16 games in the G-league, boy, is the scouting department laying an egg again.

From experience, players that are known for their BB smarts and less for their athleticism, normally are more ready.
