Jack should asked the President to pardon Tony while he had the upper hand.

 

Great show, so-so ending...

The arm chopping was pretty cool, unexpected, but Palmer not seeking another term...

I love this show...Can't wait for next year...

 

The President won't seek another term... Big deal! He should be impeached for ordering a hit on one of his own men (which in the end turned out to be completely senseless).

 

Palmer's character sucked this year. He seemed like such a pansy all season long. I always had the impression that he was a strong-willed character until this year. I liked it better when there were two good guys.

I loved, loved, loved Bauer's emoting at the end. To me, that was more surprising than a cliffhanger, as we're almost numb to those by now.

I'm looking forward to not having Palmer as President next year. Frankly, 24 never gave a convincing presidency (compare to the rock solid executive atmosphere of West Wing, for instance). I always thought that was the weakest link (next to Kim running frou cougars, of course). I have to think that Palmer's comment of "maybe when I'm a civilian we can be better friends" is foreshadowing that the two will team up next year.
