    Me (Changing subject): So... you do anything fun this Summer?
    Other Person: Yeah, we went to this big manmade lagoon
    Me: Oh nice, where at?
    Other Person: Uh...Texas City
    Me: What? Really? I didn't know there was a water park in Texas City
    Other Person: Well, it's not really a water park. It's a lagoon.
    Me: Ok, so what can you do there?
    Other Person: It's sort of like a beach, you can drink and the kids can swim
    Me: Ok...where exactly is it?
    Other Person: Uh, Lago Mar
    Me: What's that?
    Other Person: It's by the Buccees.
    Me: ....do you mean the big 'upscale' suburb on 45 where the homeowners are suing the builders for numerous issues?
    Other Person: ...yeah, that's it
    Me: Is that where you live?
    Other Person: Oh, no. I live in Kingwood.
    Me: So you took your family to a suburb pool in Texas City
    Other Person: No, it's, you know, a lagoon with a beach and stuff. And I think it's technically La Marque.
    Me: So you drove an hour south on 45 to go to a fake beach pool in La Marque 15 minutes from Galveston
    Other Person: Yeah, but Galveston, you know, has dirty water and seaweed and...other stuff. This place has crystal clear water!
    Me: So a big pee pool is preferable...
    Other Person: Yeah, big special event too, Dan Crenshaw threw a party and Blink 182....well, a Blink 182 tribute band was there!
    Me: oh....oh, ok..how much was it?
    Other Person: Oh, only a $5,000 campaign contribution! Kids had a great time, my wife got drunk again but these guys helped her to the bathroom at their house and I got to meet Dan! We had a GREAT talk about how Trump is going to take back the Whi...
    Me: Cool, man! Hey, I gotta run, stuff and junk!
    Other Person: Ok, I'll call you about the Amway stuff I told you about next week! It's a no-brainer!

    It’s hard enough for a HOA to keep a pool clean, how is it going to keep a beach clean?

    Whether it’s wildlife, debris, etc., it’s not going to look pristine like a sales video.

    Want a beach? Visit a beach.
