You are never gonna win if an owner acts like that.

How do you see it working out if Morey was fighting Tillman?

    He would have been fired.

Maybe, depends upon how you go about it. He was the GM, the top dog in basketball decisions - and his analytics said this would be a bad move, he told Tillman, and they decided to over ride him. IMHO, he should have resigned at that point, instead of riding it out, making up some sad story about spending more time at home, and then immediately going to Philly.

Look, I will give Morey credit, he got out of his deal - and had no ties or limits on where he could go - he did 100% what was best for him....I just think he should have been more forceful on the trade being bad.

Truth be told, I am much less upset with how Morey handled it - just think he should have been more forceful and leading the charge, though I have never thought of him as a Popovich leader type....and what he did was completely in his character.

If Harden stays and fights will rockets fans defend him when he loses to a more talented team in the playoffs, or will they go along with the media and call him a choker. I have been a lurker here long before i signed up. I already know that rockets fans would trash harden if he didnt win in the playoffs. Their is a trade harden thread on this very forum that is longer than the great wall of china

contrast that with the calssy nets fans who appreciate what harden means to their franchise

I'm not saying it's mentally weak, but Harden did ask for an out in the middle of a contract, which I am ok with, but also not really stay in shape, do some kind of strip club thing right as training camp was starting which made him miss all of training camp, and then ultimately really pout and stop trying on the court.

that said, he wanted what he wanted and that was the principal way to get it.

For sure that stuff was unnecessary. That whole Covid stuff was so dumb and irresponsible.

Harden decided to party all night, eat like ****, not train his hardest, came into the season in the worst shape of his life cause he didn’t give a **** and then decided to quit on us. When he got what he wanted he decided to try again, tried to say and do all the right things and give well thought out answers in post game interviews. However he was playing catch up all season lugging around an extra 20+ pounds. Maybe if he was a professional and kept in shape he wouldn’t have had hammy issues. Still wouldn’t have mattered though. His lack of decision making in pressure situations and willingness to defer cause he scared of the big moment was as evident as ever again. Maybe next year if Kyrie is healthy he’ll show the bum how to take care of business in the 4th.

    2021 Regular Season 4th Q PPG with shooting%

    1st: Tatum - 7.5
    1st: Giannis - 7.5
    3rd: Harden - 7.4(47/34/90)
    19th: Irving : 6.1 (49/37/94)

    2021 1st Round 4th Q PTS/REB/AST with shooting %

    1st : Irving - 8.5/2.0/0.0 (65/67/100)
    5th : Harden - 8.0/1.6/2.0 (53/60/79)

Both were fantastic in the 4th quarter. During the regular season and the playoffs prior to injury.

Chris Paul had a vegan diet way before he was traded. D’Antoni talked about how he looked healthier right before the trade. And basically said he wanted to run it back.

Look, I'm as happy as the next guy for CP3. But defeating a Lakers team without AD, a Nuggets without Murray, and Clippers team without Kawhi on a Suns team with a dominant center is not nearly as impressive as taking arguably the best team in NBA history with prime Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Durant to the brink, especially with a Rockets team starting Capela who was mainly a lob threat and not much else, Ariza, and Tucker, and probably would have defeated them had it not been for his hamstring injury. In terms of actual achievements, that season is far and away a bigger and more impressive accomplishment.

You are one of the worst posters on CF.

Your basketball takes are ridiculously bad.

You and DD deserve each other.

I don't know how you can call losing in the WCF a bigger accomplishment than actually making the finals. The real reason the Rockets lost to Golden State wasn't because of CP3's hamstring, it's because of poor coaching and the ineffectiveness of the James Harden led Rockets to close out the series. They were up 3-2 and just needed to win one more game and couldn't do it.
